It provides physiological measuring equipment, including electroencephalographs, evoked potential and electromyogram measuring systems, electrocardiographs, neural function measuring systems, stimulators, polygraphs for cath labs, and diagnostic information systems. The company also offers patient monitors comprising central monitors, bedside monitors, wireless monitors, telemetry monitoring systems, transmitters, sensors, pulse oximeters, CO2 monitors, multigas units, remote access software, and other equipment; and clinical information systems. In addition, it provides treatment equipment, such as defibrillators, automated external defibrillators, pacemakers, ICDs, ventilators, cochlear implants, and vagnus nerve stimulations. Further, the company offers other medical equipment consisting of automated hematology analyzers, ultrasound diagnostic equipment, basic laboratory equipment, and transformers, as well as other equipment, and consumables and services. Additionally, it provides automatic coagulation analyzers, software, reagents, controls, calibrators, disposable electrodes, electrode gels, pastes, and cleaners, as well as adapters and probes. The company also imports and distributes medical devices in various fields, including cardiology, anesthesiology, respiratory care, emergency care, POCT, and rehabilitation. Nihon Kohden Corporation was founded in 1951 and is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.

Nihon Kohden Corp. reported consolidated earnings results for the first quarter ended June 30, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported net sales of JPY 30,982 million against JPY 30,415 million a year ago. Operating income was JPY 1,051 million against JPY 1,552 million a year ago. Ordinary income was JPY 971 million against JPY 2,010 million a year ago. Net income was JPY 539 million against JPY 1,316 million a year ago. Net income per basic share was JPY 12.27 against JPY 29.97 a year ago. Income before income taxes and minority interests was JPY 970 million against JPY 2,008 million a year ago. The company reaffirmed consolidated earnings guidance for the first half and fiscal year ending March 31, 2015.
