Vestas Wind Systems A/S and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Establishes Joint Venture Company 'MHI Vestas Offshore Wind'

Final closing of the joint venture between Vestas and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), dedicated to offshore wind power, has now taken place. The new company, MHI Vestas Offshore Wind, has 380 employees and is headquartered in Aarhus, Denmark. Following the approval from all relevant authorities, MHI Vestas Offshore Wind has been formally established as of April 1, 2014. The joint venture is responsible for the design, further development, procurement, manufacturing, installation, commissioning and service related to the V164-8.0 MW turbine as well as all marketing, sales and after-sales service related to offshore wind. Vestas and MHI have transferred a total of 380 employees to the new entity, which is owned equally by the parent companies. The joint venture will be headquartered at Dusager 4, 8200 Aarhus N, Denmark.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) and Fuji Xerox Co., Ltd. will establish and begin operation of a new company, Fuji Xerox Service Link Co., Ltd., starting April 1, 2014. The new company is to succeed the document-related business of MHI's subsidiary, RYOIN Co., Ltd. Through the comprehensive business alliance, MHI and Fuji Xerox will strengthen their partnership beyond a mere business succession to achieve growth in both businesses. MHI, through the triune project with Fuji Xerox and Fuji Xerox Services Link, aims to standardize and optimize its document-related processes and achieve a drastic reduction in direct/indirect costs. Ultimately, MHI will promote its corporate renovation set forth in its fiscal 2012 business plan, exert synergy effects by shifting its business groups domain-centric, and expand its business in the global market. With its accumulated knowhow on document outsourcing service, Fuji Xerox aims to expand its business by incorporating the services capability currently undertaken by RYOIN and further getting involved with the document-related processes of MHI group of companies. With the establishment of the new company, Fuji Xerox will offer outsourcing services focusing on document-related services to support MHI group in solving their management issues.

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. to Launch New Company Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Mechatronics Systems and Appoints Nozomu Watanabe as President

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. (MHI) will reorganize three of its group companies - Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Mechatronics Systems Ltd. (MHI-MS), Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Parking Co. Ltd. (MHI-P) and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Bridge & Steel Structures Engineering Co. Ltd. (MBE) - into a newly launching company that will comprehensively handle operations in machinery and steel structures. The new company will be provided with a solid corporate structure enabling flexible response to medium- and long-term changes in the business environment, targeting a stable financial base and expanded earnings from related operations. The new company will be launched with MHI-MS, whose operations currently involve mechanical and environmental systems and equipment, as the surviving enterprise. MHI-P, which deals in mechanical parking systems, will be absorbed, and the steel structures operations of MBE, which now does business in that area as well as in bridges, will be split off and taken over by the new company. MHI-MS's corporate name will be retained. The new company will be capitalized in the amount of CNY 1 billion, with operations launching with a workforce numbering approximately 1,100. The head office will be in Kobe, and major operating bases will be set up in the Minatomirai and Kanazawa districts of Yokohama. MHI-MS president Nozomu Watanabe will serve as the new company's president. MHI will work closely with the new company and lend its full support to its business development. Corporate name is Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Mechatronics Systems, Ltd., capitalization is CNY 1 billion and president is Nozomu Watanabe.
