It also provides medical systems and equipment for angiography, fluoroscopy, surgical C-arm, mobile X-ray, and radiography; aircraft equipment, such as landing gear and flight control systems; and industrial equipment for ceramics, metals, mining, clinical, forensics, electronics, electronic environment, food, beverages, machinery, automotive, petrochemical, chemical, pharmaceutical, and life science sectors. In addition, the company offers semiconductor and flat panel display equipment, including turbo molecular pumps, helium leak detectors, anti-reflective coating systems for solar cells, solar cell inspection systems, multi deposition systems, and liquid crystal injection systems; and hydraulic equipment comprising hydraulic gear pumps for mobile power packages, as well as manual stack valves. Further, it provides optical and laser devices, such as diffraction gratings, aspherical mirrors, laser mirrors and windows, Polka-Dot beamsplitters, spectro sensor units, precision spectrometers and refractometers, contact liquid, and laser modules and laser devices, as well as engine combustion monitoring systems. The company sells its products in Japan, North and South America, Europe, China, other Asia, and other countries. Shimadzu Corporation was founded in 1875 and is headquartered in Kyoto, Japan.

Agilent and Shimadzu Release GC Instrument Control for CDS

Agilent Technologies Inc. and Shimadzu Corporation released gas chromatography, or GC, instrument control for their respective chromatography data systems, or CDS. The move provides customers in analytical laboratories with more freedom of choice when selecting a chromatography data system. Agilent has released drivers for the Shimadzu GC-2010, GC-2010 Plus and GC-2014 integrating to Agilent's OpenLAB CDS; Shimadzu has released drivers to control Agilent 6890, 6850, 7820 and 7890 GC instruments in Shimadzu's LabSolutions. These releases are the result of the joint collaboration - employing RapidControl (RC.NET) instrument drivers - announced in May 2013 to preserve customers' investments in workflows and operating procedures.

Shimadzu Corporation Releases Automated Scale-Up System for Reversed Phase Purification

Shimadzu Corporation announced the global release of ASAPrep, an automated scale-up system for reversed phase purification. ASAPrep (Automated Scale-up from Analytical to Preparative conditions) is an algorithm (patent pending) used to calculate an optimal initial organic mobile phase concentration in preparative scale using the retention time acquired by LC-PDA-MS measurement, and to judge the difference between success and failure of purification. Its calculation uses a pre-registered ASAPrep operational expression within newly developed Open Solution Purification software. ASAPrep enables development of a user-independent purification workflow regardless of a researcher's reversed phase chromatography knowledge. It determines an optimized preparative method by calculating chromatographic parameters of measured LC-PDA-MS chromatogram in analytical scale. This allows anyone to quickly and easily develop a purification method.

Shimadzu Corporation Releases iMScope TRIO Imaging Mass Microscope

Shimadzu Corporation released the iMScope TRIO, an advanced imaging technology platform bringing together innovative mass spectrometry and high resolution morphological images. The iMScope TRIO builds on the iMScope developed in April 2013 as part of the Development of Systems and Technology for Advanced Measurement and Analysis Program of the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST). It is imaging technology that supports high resolution morphological imaging from an optical microscope overlaid with molecular distribution images generated by high mass accuracy mass spectrometry with a spatial resolution of 5 µm. The accurate and high resolution images from the iMScope TRIO will drive research in a broad range of biological and clinical applications including disease-specific markers based on differences in molecular distribution in normal and diseased tissues and pharmaceutical drug distribution, metabolism and toxicology. Features: Top global level of high spatial resolution mass spectrometry imaging: The system is equipped with an ultraviolet laser that can be narrowed to a minimum 5 µm beam diameter. In terms of mass spectrometry imaging, it achieves a world leading spatial resolution of 5 µm. The system elucidates the layered structure of lipids contained in tissues as thin as the retina (10 µm thick). Integration of optical and mass spectrometry images: Optical images obtained with a high resolution optical microscope and mass spectrometry images can be overlaid using a dedicated software application enabling information rich data analysis. High level qualitative analysis via the IT-TOF Function: High mass accuracy mass spectrometry data is generated by the ion-trap TOF MS. This technology delivers an unparalleled degree of information for molecular identification using MSn analysis. The design not only also supports high resolution spatial imaging but can be used as separate interface to LC for high mass accuracy LC/MS/MS analysis.
