Media Asia Group Holdings Limited reported unaudited consolidated earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended 31 January 2013. For the quarter, the company reported turnover of HKD 95,467,000 compared to HKD 43,561,000 a year ago. Loss from operating activities was HKD 19,342,000 compared to profit from operating activities of HKD 106,736,000 a year ago. Loss before tax was HKD 31,359,000 compared to profit before tax of HKD 99,794,000 a year ago. Loss attributable to owners of the company was HKD 33,313,000 or 0.25 cent basic and diluted per share compared to profit attributable to owners of the company of HKD 99,596,000 or 0.36 cent diluted per share a year ago. For the six months period, the company reported turnover of HKD 159,993,000 compared to HKD 54,629,000 a year ago. Loss from operating activities was HKD 29,563,000 compared to HKD 370,627,000 a year ago. Loss before tax was HKD 53,497,000 compared to HKD 384,718,000 a year ago. Loss attributable to owners of the company was HKD 55,773,000 or 0.42 cent basic and diluted per share compared to HKD 385,282,000 or 3.08 cent diluted per share a year ago. Net cash flows used in operating activities were HKD 191,774,000 compared to HKD 114,128,000 a year ago. The decrease in revenue was mainly due to the increase in revenue from the group's entertainment businesses. The significant reduction in loss attributable to owners of the Company was mainly due to the fact that the issuance of the Second Completion Convertible Notes was completed on 9 June 2012 and therefore no fair value gain or loss on a forward contract was recognized during the Current Period.
