Taitien Electronics Co Ltd. has introduced the performance temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXOs) in the industry, the TT series. Leveraging TAITIEN’s long history of making and expertise in end-to-end fabrication of high-precision quartz crystal oscillators, the new TT TCXO is capable of providing ultra tight frequency stability of +/- 0.1ppm over -20 to 70oC and +/- 0.20ppm over -40 to 85oC in a 7x5mm SMD ceramic package with excellent phase noise performance. With supply voltages from 2.8V to 5.0V, the TT series offer output frequencies ranging from 10 MHz to 52 MHz in either CMOS or clipped-sine wave output. The improvement in overall product design enables the TT TCXOs to minimize the effects on frequency stability generated by loading and power supply variation. At 3.3V with 10% voltage variation, the resulting frequency offset on the TCXO is < +/-0.05ppm. At the same time, phase noise performance is markedly improved as the TT series can achieve -120 dBc/Hz @100Hz offset and -143 dBc/Hz @1k Hz offset in 26MHz CMOS output. Additionally, compliant with Belcore standards of GR-253 and GR-1244, the new TT series can achieve Stratum 3 overall frequency stability requirement of +/-4.6ppm for 20 years and 24-hr holdover performance of +/-0.32ppm over industrial temperature range. These features make the TT TCXOs the optimal solution as reference clocks in wide variety of communication systems. Ideally suited for applications demanding high-precision timing requirements such as cellular base stations, test instruments, wireless backhaul and core network equipments, the TT series can deliver the tight frequency stability which could only be achieved previously by OCXOs. At the same time the TT series provide the performance with much lower power consumption and miniaturized form factor than typical OCXOs.
