Air Canada, a full-service airline, together with its subsidiaries, provides scheduled passenger services in the Canadian market, the Canada-U.S. transborder market, and in the international market to and from Canada. The company offers specialty charter service under the Air Canada Jetz brand to professional sports teams, corporate incentive travelers, and executive groups; vacation packages, ground handling services, and other airline-related services; and an assortment of cruises, tours, and excursions to various destinations in the Caribbean, Mexico, Central & South America, Asia, Europe, and the United States. It also provides air cargo services to freight forwarding companies and businesses on domestic and U.S. transborder routes, as well as on international routes between Canada and major markets in Europe, Asia, South America, and Australia. As of December 31, 2013, the company operated a mainline fleet of 183 aircraft comprising 81 Airbus narrow-body aircraft, 57 Boeing and Airbus wide-body aircraft, and 45 Embraer 190 regional jets. The company was founded in 1937 and is headquartered in Saint-Laurent, Canada.

Air Canada reported traffic results for the month, third quarter and year-to-date ended September 2014. For the month, the company reported traffic results of 5,545 million RPMs compared to 5,078 million RPMs a year ago. Load factor was 84.7% versus 83.2% a year ago. Capacity was 6,546 million ASMs compared to 6,100 million ASMs a year ago. For the quarter, the company reported traffic results of 18,565 million RPMs compared to 16,728 million RPMs a year ago. Load factor was 87.2% versus 86.2% a year ago. Capacity was 21,298 million ASMs compared to 19,404 million ASMs a year ago. For the year-to-date, the company reported traffic results of 47,525 million RPMs compared to 43,908 million RPMs a year ago. Load factor was 84.1% versus 83.6% a year ago. Capacity was 56,485 million ASMs compared to 52,540 million ASMs a year ago.

Air Canada Reaches New Agreement with Air Canada Pilots Association to Ratification on Contract Terms for 10 Years

Air Canada announced that it has reached a new agreement with the Air Canada Pilots Association (ACPA), subject to ratification, on collective agreement terms for ten years. The agreement is subject to ratification by the Association's membership comprising the airline's approximately 3,000 pilots as well as to certain openers and benchmarks over the 10 year period. Details of the agreement, reached before the expiration in April 2016 of the current collective agreement, will not be released pending ratification by the Association and approval by the Air Canada Board of Directors.
