Wintek Corporation filed lawsuit against TPK Holding Co., Ltd., TPK AMERICA, LLC, TPK Touch Solutions (Xiamen) Inc., Acer Inc., Acer America Corporation and Acer American Holdings Corp. in the district of Delware on May 8, 2013. Wintek announced Acer's products (V5 notebook), incorporated with TPK's touch panel products, were discovered to have infringed upon U.S. Patent No. 8,330,738 (capacitive touch panel) owned by Wintek Corporation. As part of effort to research and develop advanced technology, Wintek Corporation continually develops new core competencies and extends intellectual property rights to maintain long-term competitiveness. This patent infringement suit was filed to protect Wintek against intellectual property right violations and uphold Wintek shareholder's rights.
