Agrium Inc. produces, retails, and distributes the crop nutrients, crop protection products, seeds, and agronomics primarily in North America, South America, Europe, and Australia. The company operates through two segments, Retail and Wholesale. The Retail segment supplies crop protection products, such as herbicide, fungicide, insecticide, and adjuvant products; crop nutrients, including dry and liquid nitrogen, phosphate, potash, sulfur, and micronutrients; seeds; and merchandise comprising fencing, feed supplements, livestock-related animal health products, irrigation equipment, and other products. It also provides product application, soil and leaf testing, crop scouting, seed treatment, cattle, livestock and wool marketing, insurance, and real estate, as well as offers plant nutrient and precision agriculture software packages. The Wholesale segment produces, markets, and distributes a range of nutrients, including nitrogen-based, potash, and phosphate-based crop nutrient products to agricultural and industrial customers. The company also offers crop-inputs technology and precision agriculture services under the Echelon brand name; and supplies specialty fertilizers. The company was formerly known as Cominco Fertilizers Ltd. and changed its name to Agrium Inc. in 1995. Agrium Inc. was founded in 1931 and is headquartered in Calgary, Canada.

Agrium Names Steve J. Douglas as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Effective November 3, 2014

Agrium Inc. announced that Mr. Steve J. Douglas has accepted the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer effective November 3, 2014. Steve comes to Agrium from Brookfield Asset Management where he was Senior Managing Partner and CFO of Brookfield Property Partners and also previously held the role of CFO at Falconbridge. As CFO, Steve will be responsible for all strategic elements of the financial operations of Agrium and will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team. At Brookfield Asset Management, Steve was the Senior Managing Partner and Chief Financial Officer, responsible for all financial aspects of the Commercial Property Group of Brookfield Asset Management, an organization with in excess of USD 110 billion under management around the world. He previously held numerous positions with Brookfield, including senior roles within Brookfields retail and housing construction division in Brazil, Australia, Dubai, Britain and Canada. Steve was the Executive Vice President and the Chief Financial Officer at Falconbridge Limited (now Xstrata Canada Corporation) from 2003 to 2006 and was also previously employed at Ernst and Young.

Agrium Announces Board Changes

Agrium announced that Mr. Smith will take on the role of Chairman of the Board of Agricen, and will serve on the Board of Agricen Sciences. Jeff Tarsi, Vice President of Strategy and International Retail for Crop Production Services will also join the Agricen Board.

Agrium Announces Executive Changes

Agrium has appointed Steve Douglas as senior vice president and chief financial officer effective on 3 November. Douglas is taking over the position from Steve Dyer, who has been serving in an interim capacity after being promoted in February 2014 from the CFO post to president of retail. Douglas will be responsible for all strategic elements of financial operations for the fertilizer producer and will join the senior leadership team. He joins Agrium from Brookfield Asset Management where he was a senior managing partner and was also the chief financial officer for Brookfield Property Partners.
