Air Liquide S.A. Opens First Hydrogen Filling Station in Rotterdam, Netherlands

Air Liquide S.A. has opened its first hydrogen filling station in Rotterdam, Netherlands. This station will be the first Air Liquide hydrogen filling station located in the Netherlands. It has the capacity to refuel fifty cars per day. One hydrogen full tank, which takes under five minutes to achieve, will give Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles a range of 500 - 600 km. This filling station is part of HIT, a European hydrogen infrastructure deployment project run by Air Liquide and six other European partners. It received financial backing from the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T), a European Commission program which aim is to support the development of transport infrastructures.

Airbus Defense and Space and Air Liquide Build a New Manufacturing Plant in Bremen for the European Space Agency

Airbus Defense and Space and Air Liquide are building a new manufacturing plant in Bremen for the European Space Agency with a total area of just over 4,000 m2 to integrate and equip the upper stage tanks of the future European launchers. Eurocyrospace is responsible for designing and manufacturing the tanks. The first tank is set to leave the production line to be tested in November 2015. At the same time, a second manufacturing plant is being constructed on the neighboring plot by MT-Aerospace, an OHB AG company.

Air Liquide to Invest EUR 40 Million in New Air Separation Unit

Air Liquide has announced that it will invest around EUR 40 million in a new Air Separation Unit, or ASU, that will supply Klabin, a paper manufacturer, with oxygen. Under the terms of this agreement, Air Liquide will invest around EUR 40 million in a new ASU that will supply more than 160 tonnes of oxygen per day to Klabin's new factory located in Ortigueira, as well as to Klabin's other site in Telemaco Borba, both located in the state of Parana. The oxygen produced by Air Liquide's ASU will be used to process and whiten pulp in a more efficient and environmentally friendly manner. This unit will be designed and built by Air Liquide Engineering and Construction teams, using technologies that offer energy efficiency as well as optimal performance and safety. This new ASU will also allow Air Liquide to provide oxygen, nitrogen and argon to customers in the industrial and healthcare sectors in the regions of Parana, Santa Catarina, Rio Grande do Sul and Mato Grosso do Sul. This investment will increase Air Liquide's competitiveness locally, which will help to expand its presence in the region.
