AAR CORP. provides products and services to aviation, government, and defense markets worldwide. The company operates trough two segments, Aviation Services and Technology Products. The Aviation Services segment sells and leases various new, overhauled and repaired engine, and airframe parts and components to commercial and defense customers; provides customized inventory supply and management, warranty claim management, and outsourcing programs for engine and airframe parts and components; and offers customized performance-based logistics programs in support of the U.S. Department of Defense and foreign governments. This segment also provides airframe maintenance inspection and overhaul, painting, line maintenance, airframe modification, structural repair, avionic service and installation, exterior and interior refurbishment, and engineering services, as well as support for commercial and military aircrafts; and repair and overhaul for landing gears, wheels, brakes, and actuators; and airlift services, such as in fixed-and rotary-wing flight operations, and transporting personnel and cargo to government customers, as well as sells and leases used commercial aircrafts. The Technology Products segment designs, manufactures, and repairs airdrop and other transportation pallets, and containers and shelters used in support of military and humanitarian tactical deployment activities; designs, manufactures, and installs in-plane cargo loading and handling systems for commercial and military aircraft and helicopters; and provides engineering, design, and system integration services for specialized command and control systems. The company primarily markets and sells products and services through its own employees and sales agents. As of May 31, 2013, it had ownership interests in 18 aircrafts. The company was founded in 1951 and is headquartered in Wood Dale, Illinois.

AAR Corp. announced unaudited consolidated earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended February 28, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported sales of $474.4 million and net income attributable to the company of $17.9 million, or $0.45 per diluted share, compared to sales of $520.2 million and net income attributable to the company of $18.4 million, or $0.47 per diluted share a year ago. Third quarter fiscal year 2014 results included a $2.7 million tax benefit and a $0.7 million reduction in net income due to the impact of a weaker U.S. dollar. The company generated $10.3 million in cash flow from operations, despite making significant investments to support new program wins. Free cash flow was $3.4 million with capital expenditures of $6.9 million. Operating income was $33.7 million compared to $37.6 million for the same period a year ago. Income before income tax expense was $23.3 million compared to $27.8 million for the same period a year ago. For the nine months, the company reported sales of $1,529.6 million compared to $1,583.5 million for the same period a year ago. Operating income was $112.6 million compared to $113.8 million for the same period a year ago. Income before income tax expense was $81.3 million compared to $83.0 million for the same period a year ago. Net income attributable to the company was $55.8 million or $1.40 per diluted share compared to $54.4 million or $1.35 per diluted share for the same period a year ago. Book value per share as on February 28, 2014 was $24.95 compared to $23.34 for the same period a year ago. Net debt as at February 28, 2014 was $599.7 million compared to $675.4 million at the same period a year ago. The company is adjusting its full year of fiscal 2014 revenue guidance down to $2.000 billion to $2.050 billion while reducing its diluted earnings per share guidance to $1.79 to $1.82. This revision reflects the actual third quarter results and expectations for fourth quarter performance. The prior guidance was for EPS of $1.95 to $2.00 and revenue of $2.1 billion to $2.15 billion.

AAR Corp. Signs Letter of Intent with Mesa Airlines for Total Support of New E175s

AAR Corp. signed a letter of intent (LOI) to provide support for 30 new Embraer 175 aircraft operated by Mesa Airlines Inc. The 12-year agreement will include rotable inventory power by the hour (PBH) support, heavy maintenance, and wheel and brake services. AAR will utilize its broad services offering to provide this comprehensive fleet support under a single program. To support the inventory PBH element of the program, AAR will own and manage a rotable inventory pool in five of Mesa's locations to meet guaranteed service levels. The heavy maintenance will be performed in AAR's Oklahoma City MRO facility and the wheel and brake services will be performed in AAR's Miami location. The estimated total value of the contract is more than $200 million. Mesa will begin revenue operation of the new fleet of E175s this summer for United Express service.
