Aker Solutions ASA, through its subsidiaries, provides oilfield products, systems, and services for drilling, field development, and production in the oil and gas industry worldwide. Aker Solutions ASA has received a contract award notification for offshore engineering services to support Husky Energy's activities at the offshore White Rose field in Canada. The scope of work includes studies, modifications (EPCI) and campaign maintenance services. The duration is five years with an option to extend the contract for as many as 10 one-year periods. The estimated contract value is NOK 900 million for the five-year period. The project will employ about 70 management and engineering employees onshore, as well as 20 people on rotation offshore.
Aker Solutions ASA reported consolidated earnings results for the first quarter of 2013. For the period, the company’s operating revenues and other income was NOK 11,060 million against NOK 9,837 million a year ago. EBITDA was NOK 868 million against NOK 1,040 million a year ago. EBIT was NOK 529 million against NOK 809 million a year ago. Profit before tax was NOK 370 million against NOK 742 million a year ago. Net profit was NOK 269 million or NOK 1.00 basic per share against NOK 526 million or NOK 1.93 basic per share a year ago. Net cash flow from operating activities was NOK 2,002 million against NOK 122 million a year ago. Capital expenditure was NOK 477 million against NOK 584 million a year ago. Net debt as on March 31, 2013 was NOK 9.2 billion. The three main factors in particular impacted the results. The company had NOK 70 million in extra costs for the Ekofisk Zulu project. The company lost NOK 63 million from writing down the value of some Umbilicals projects in Norway. And its OMA business area lost NOK 54 million, as 2 vessels were idle the entire first quarter.
Aker Field Life Solutions reported earnings results for the first quarter of 2013. For the period, the company's revenues were NOK 3,504 million against NOK 3,261 million a year ago. EBITDA was NOK 223 million against NOK 377 million a year ago.
