Alarko Holding AS engages in energy, contracting, land development, industry and trade, tourism, and seafood businesses in Turkey and internationally. The company is involved in the generation of electricity primarily from 1 hydroelectric and 2 natural gas fired power plants with a generation capacity of 177 megawatts; and distributes electricity in 6 provinces of Central Anatolia. It also engages in the construction of refineries, petrochemical plants, chemical processing plants, and tank farms; ore processing and dressing, metallurgy and electrometallurgy, iron and steel, and cement and lime plants, as well as provides factory construction and equipment assembly services; and hydroelectric power plants, thermal power plants, combined cycle power plants, and heat recovery systems in Turkey, Kazakhstan, and Morocco. In addition, the company constructs pipelines, natural gas distribution networks, compressor stations, and pump stations; waste water treatment plants, water treatment plants, waste water sea discharge lines, and water supply and irrigation systems; airports, railroads, underground systems, light rail systems, signalization systems, highways, motorways, tunnels, and bridges; and residential, business, and commercial centers. Further, it manufactures, markets, and services heating, ventilating, and air conditioning products and pumps; and sells automatic control equipment, duct equipment and filters, axial fans, air conditioners for operating theaters, exhaust fans, radiator valves, and thermostatic valves. Additionally, the company operates holiday villages, hotels, clubs, cinemas, and spas, as well as publishes Hillsider magazine; breeds, processes, and trades seafood, including frozen products. It is also involved in real estate investment business; designing and building satellite towns; and production, marketing, and dealership of technical equipment. The company was founded in 1954 and is headquartered in Istanbul, Turkey.
