Alkane Resources Limited Announces Operating Results for the Year to Date Ended June 30, 2014; Provides Production Guidance for Fiscal Year 2015 and 2016

Alkane Resources Limited announced operating results for the month and year to date ended June 30, 2014. For the year to date, the company reported initial gold production till June 2014 to be 22,000 - 27,000 ounces. At production start-up, capital expenditure was within budget of $116 million including contingencies. The company provided production guidance for fiscal year 2015 and 2016. For fiscal year 2015, the company expects production of about 60-70,000 ounces of gold. It also expects a little less in fiscal year 2016, although additional work is required on the schedule beyond fiscal year 2015 to further optimise.

Alkane Resources Wins Contract for Supplying Engineering, Project Management and Operational Services

Alkane Resources announced award of the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) contract for its Dubbo Zirconia project in New South Wales to Hatch Pty Ltd. The FEED will deliver capital and operating cost estimates to a target 10% accuracy, building on the work of the Definitive Feasibility Study released last year. Deliverables for the FEED include all engineering works to enable an accurate estimate, including infrastructure, water treatment, acid plant, process plant and final product preparation costs. Completion of the FEED will provide Alkane with the core cost estimate for use in its DFS, which is an important step to securing funding through international Export Credit Agency sources and project debt. The FEED is expected to be formally complete early in the fourth quarter.
