Bâloise Group reported earnings results for the full year ended December 31, 2012. For the period, the company reported profit for the period of CHF 442.4 million compared to CHF 61.3 million a year ago. Return on equity was 10.3% compared to 1.6% a year ago. Diluted earnings per share was CHF 9.08 against CHF 1.29 for the same period a year ago. The company announced the dividend of CHF 4.50 per share for the year 2012 will be proposed to the Annual General Meeting on May 2, 2013 and dividend yield of 5.7%.

The Board of Directors of Bâloise Holding AG will propose to the Annual General Meeting being held on May 2 this year that Karin Keller-Sutter be elected to the Board of Directors. She will replace Hansjörg Frei who, owing to his age, is stepping down from the board. Karin Keller-Sutter (49) is a Swiss national and lives with her husband in will in the canton of St. Gallen. After serving for twelve years on St. Gallen's cantonal governing council, which she chaired in 2006/07 and again in 2011/12, she was elected at the Swiss federal elections in 2011 to represent the canton of St. Gallen on the Council of States - the upper chamber of the Swiss parliament - where, among other things, she sits on the Committee for Economic Affairs and Taxation and on the Committee for Social Security and Health. In addition to the political functions that she performs, Karin Keller-Sutter sits on the boards of directors at the NZZ media group and Pensimo Fondsleitung AG. She is an executive director of the Swiss Retail Federation, and Vice-Chairwoman of the St. Gallen Foundation for International Studies.
