Baltiysky Zavod JSC designs and manufactures ships in the Russian Federation, Germany, Holland, Portugal, Norway, Sweden, and internationally. It offers icebreakers and ice-classed vessels with conventionally powered and nuclear-powered propulsion; commercial vessels for carrying various cargo; naval ships and nuclear-powered ships; a range of marine propulsion equipment and machinery for equipping ships built at the shipyard, as well as for supplying other yards; and heat exchangers for nuclear power plants. The company also provides bearings, steering gear parts, deck and bilge machinery, valves, and pipelines; marine and ground-based power engineering equipment, which include steam generators, and exhaust and hot-water boilers; steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous castings, as well as various church bells; and ladders and gangways, handrails, guardrails, awnings, floorings, racks and shelves, ventilation ducts, and brackets. In addition, the company offers modular paneling elements, and various engineering items for vessels built at the shipyard; a range of marine and power engineering products, such as shafts and shaft lines, rudders, rudder horns, and marine fittings; and thrust and intermediate shafts of carbon, alloy, low magnetic, and stainless steels, as well as of titanium alloy. Further, it offers insulation fittings, furring products, floorings, and rubber seals installation services, as well as modular panels for accommodation spaces; ship propellers for various large-capacity tankers, container and passenger ships, various navy ships, and speed-boats and patrol vessels; and carbon, stainless, and low-magnetic steels stern tubes. Baltiysky Zavod JSC was formerly known as Baltiysky Foundry, Engineering and Building Works of Karr and Macpherson. The company was founded in 1856 and is based in St. Petersburg, the Russian Federation. Baltiysky Zavod JSC operates as a subsidiary of OAO "Western Shipbuilding Center".

Court of Appeal Sustains SOGAZ's Claim against Baltiysky Zavod JSC

The Thirteenth Court of Appeal has sustained a claim of SOGAZ insurance company against Baltiysky Zavod JSC. In line the with the court decision, the plant is to pay RUB 51.10 million (EUR 1.32 million USD 1.76 million) of the insurance premium, as well as RUB 200,000 so as to compensate for expenses for the state duty payment regarding the lawsuit filing, as well as RUB 2,000 concerning expenses for the appeal.

Baltiysky Zavod JSC Announces Board Appointments

Baltiysky Zavod JSC announced the appointment of USC vice presidents Anatoly Tyukov and Dmitry Mironenkov; head of strategic development Grigory Menshikh; legal department chief Ilya Novoselsky; and Maxim Filippov, head of corporate development and legal support at USC subsidiary OJSC ZTsS. The board also includes Andrei Kurasov and Konstantin Antsiferov, deputy directors of the shipbuilding and marine equipment industry department at the Russian Industry and Trade Ministry; Baltiysky Zavod general director Valery Venkov; and the representative of Russia - Leonid Strugov, director of the shipbuilding and marine equipment industry department at the Russian Industry and Trade Ministry - who is appointed by decree of the Russian government.

Baltiysky Zavod JSC to Launch Second Oil Tanker for BFC

Baltiysky Zavod JSC announced that it is launching second vessel of a series of four non self-propelled oil tankers of Project 2734. The vessel will be named 'Mary'. The RUB 400 million contract for a series of four non-self steering tankers of Project 2734 was signed between the shipbuilding firm and Baltic Fuel Company Group (BFC) in November 2010. The order is funded with participation of the Bank of Saint Petersburg. The Project 2734 was designed by Marine Engineering Bureau. The project was developed to satisfy the Customer's requirements, according to the latest innovations and internationally approved standards of shipbuilding.
