Chief Executive Juergen Steinemann told The Wall Street Journal that the company is pondering the purchase of gourmet chocolate makers, with some located in emerging markets. "We want to add...content or regions to these brands," Juergen Steinemann said. Steinemann declined to disclose which companies Barry Callebaut is considering.
Barry Callebaut has appointed Fernando Aguirre as a Director. The effective date is April 22, 2013. The shareholders also confirmed the election of Timothy E. Minges as new member of the Board of Directors of Barry Callebaut for the current term of office until the next Annual General Meeting on December 11, 2013. Fernando Aguirre served as the Chairman and CEO of Chiquita Brands International Inc. from 2004 until 2012. Presently Mr. Aguirre is a consultant to Chiquita and a Director of Levi Strauss & Co. as well as a Director at Aetna Inc. Timothy E.
