Bauer Performance Sports Ltd. announces launch of BAUER VAPOR APX2 skate. The highly-anticipated skate, which features the TUUK LIGHTSPEED EDGE and a one-piece stability lacing system to maximize power, is already worn by several National Hockey League players, including goal-scoring leader Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Capitals, Claude Giroux of the Philadelphia Flyers and Evander Kane of the Winnipeg Jets. The BAUER VAPOR APX2 features the new TUUK LIGHTSPEED EDGE holder which includes an innovative 'trigger' system that allows a player to change out steel in seconds. Prior to the introduction of this new technology, players would miss shifts - or sometimes entire periods or games - if they lost an edge or broke a piece of steel. TUUK LIGHTSPEED EDGE is a standard feature at a variety of price points, including on the BAUER VAPOR APX2, VAPOR X 100, VAPOR X 90, VAPOR X 80, VAPOR X 70 and VAPOR X 60. The holder can also easily be added to virtually any current skate. Additional innovative features of the BAUER VAPOR APX2 include: HYDRA-MAX 2 LINER: Moisture wicking and abrasion resistant with an integrated comfort wrap. The Total Edge Comfort liner minimizes wear and tear around the top of the ankle, adding durability and comfort. CURV(R) COMPOSITE UPPER: The X-rib design provides structural support and stability throughout the boot, allowing for faster acceleration and quicker turns. The angle of the boot is cut aggressively to allow greater forward flex. FORM-FIT+ FOOTBED: FORM-FIT+ performance with enhanced comfort in the toe area, including ERGO TOE-PROTECTION that can be customized to a specific player's needs. TUUK LS FUSION BLADE: Revolutionary runner design fusing the strength and performance of elite stainless steel with high-grade aluminum, significantly reducing the weight of the runner.
