Bio-Cell Ltd. has decided not to sell off its 17% stake in Protalix Biotherapeutics, Inc. Bio-Cell’s Board of Directors had earlier planned to consider various measures, including liquidation of the company and the distribution of its Protalix shares as a dividend in kind, but have now planned to go against it. The Directors' argue that liquidating Protalix would severely affect the value of its holdings, because Protalix's potential value is partly based on future improvements. Biocell's share price fell 1.3% and Protalix's share price fell 3% on July 17, 2011.
