Banco di Desio And Clitumnus Reportedly Submits Two Separate Offers To Banca Popolare

Banco di Desio e della Brianza S.p.A. (BIT:BDB) and Clitumnus have submitted two separate binding offers to the extraordinary commissioners ofBanca Popolare di Spoleto S.p.A. (BIT:SPO) for the acquisition of a controlling stake, reported SeeNews citing agency Radiocor report. Radiocor added that Banco di Desio and Clitumnus will be the only bidders for the control over Banca Popolare, as Banca Popolare Di Vicenza S.C.p.A., which had entered the data room, did not file an offer by the deadline. The selected bidder will have to launch a capital hike that would dilute the stakes of the other shareholders, including the 51% interest of Spoleto Credito E Servizi - Societa' Cooperativa A R.L. According to Radiocor, Banco di Desio seems to be in a pole position given the traditional preference of Italy's central bank Bankitalia when it comes to the acquisition of banks.
