Bharti Airtel Limited provides telecommunication systems and services to individuals and businesses in India, Africa, and internationally. Its Mobile Services division offers voice and data telecom services through 2G/3G/4G wireless technologies; and post-paid, pre-paid, roaming, Internet, m-commerce, and other value added services. The company’s Telemedia Services division offers voice and data communications based on fixed network and broadband technology. This division provides high-speed broadband; local, national, and international long-distance voice connectivity; and fixed-line voice, mobile, data, and other connectivity solutions. Its Digital TV Services division offers digital broadcasting services under the direct-to-home platform; and 373 channels and services. The company’s Airtel Business division provides communication and ICT services, such as voice, data, video, network integration, enterprise mobile applications, digital media, and data center and managed network services; and MPLS-VPN, private leased circuits, satellite services, audio and video conferencing, corporate value added services, EPBX, Centrex, contact centre solutions, and virtual calling card services to business customers. Its national long distance infrastructure includes approximately 83,389 Rkms of optical fibers, 1500 MPLS and SDH POPs, and 100 POIs with the local exchanges. This division’s international infrastructure consists of ownership and various investments in submarine cable systems. Bharti Airtel Limited also offers tower infrastructure services, including setting up, operating, and maintaining wireless communication towers; and mobile commerce services. It serves approximately 281 million customers. The company was formerly known as Bharti Tele-Ventures Limited and changed its name to Bharti Airtel Limited in April 2006. Bharti Airtel Limited was founded in 1995 and is headquartered in New Delhi, India.

Bharti Airtel Hires Anand Chandrasekaran as Chief Product Officer

Yahoo’s senior director of global search products, Anand Chandrasekaran, to become its chief product officer, a newly created position at Bharti Airtel. Chandrasekaran will lead product conceptualisation, design and development across the consumer business segment of the company. Confirming Chandrasekaran’s appointment, the company said he will report to consumer business head Srinivasan Gopalan. Anand will be responsible for ensuring the best-in-class user interface and experience across all current and future product offerings around the Internet ecosystem. MTN, Bharti And Orange Reportedly To Sell Assets

MTN Group Limited (JSE:MTN), Bharti Airtel Limited (BSE:532454) and Orange (ENXTPA:ORA) are considering to sell mobile tower networks in Africa, according to people familiar with the matter. MTN is selling about 15,000 of its towers across 17 countries for $2 billion to $2.5 billion, said the people, who asked not to be named because the negotiations are private. Orange is considering disposing of towers in sub-Saharan Africa and Egypt.

Mobily and Bharti Airtel Sign Master Carrier Services Agreement

Mobily and Bharti Airtel have signed a master carrier services agreement (MCSA) to interconnect each other's MPLS, IPLC and IP transit services. The partnership is expected to enable Mobily and Airtel to enhance their reach in their respective countries, as well as across the globe to provide services to operators and enterprise customers. The interconnection will support quick activation of circuits starting from 1 Mbps to 1Gps, as well as allow customers to choose from various CoS (class ofsService) according to their strategic requirement and business model.
