Black Box Corporation Announces Introduction of MediaCento(TM) IPX Controller

Black Box Corporation announced the introduction of the MediaCento(TM) IPX Controller, an appliance that enables IP-based video matrix switching and video wall control for HDMI-over-IP solutions. It is a network appliance that enables browser-based control for managing network connections between content sources and endpoints. The MediaCento IPX system enables extension of HDMI video and USB over an IP network to a virtually unlimited number of screens and video walls. The MediaCento IPX Controller enables matrix switching and video wall control for HDMI-over-IP applications. Using the internal Web server interface, users can switch from any source to any display, create presets and combine multiple receivers into a video wall, and control and switch video wall zones remotely. The Controller also features mobile support to allow users to easily access and activate presets from their mobile phone or tablet device. Because it is IP-based, there are no port limitations and it can support hundreds of individual screens and video walls up to 8 x 8 in size. Setup is easy--the MediaCento IPX Controller automatically detects any MediaCento units in the network and pulls them into the Web interface for easy control. The controller has two Ethernet ports to coordinate video connections on one network and receive control signals from another network. For example, connections over a dedicated video distribution network can be controlled from a corporate LAN or the Internet using a mobile phone, tablet, or office computer.

Black Box Corporation Announces Release of InvisaPC(TM)

Black Box Corporation announced the release of InvisaPC(TM), a KVM-over-IP solution that works over a local area network (LAN) or the Internet. InvisaPC extends DVI-D video and USB-HID signals with low latency to deliver real-time performance for video, keyboards and mice across IP networks, enabling hardware-based desktop extension from multiple physical CPU's or virtual machines. InvisaPC is a KVM-over-IP solution for extending remote desktops from physical CPUs or virtual machines. For KVM extension from physical CPU's, InvisaPC is a hardware-only, OS-independent solution that supports all Mac(R), Linux(R), and Windows(R) operating systems. Since no software needs to be installed, users can also get BIOS-level access to remotely manage and reboot physical CPU's over a LAN or the Internet. A transmitter and receiver pair is used to connect the CPU and remote workstation. Extension of virtualized CPUs is currently supported for virtual machines running Microsoft(R) MS Server 2008 R2 SP1 and Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008 R2 SPJ for RDP 7.1 Remote FX. Only a receiver is required to access a virtual machine. Users can start with a single point-to-point KVM extension and scale to an unmanaged, network-based matrix switching configuration with the ability to access a total of 32 selectable CPUs per user station from any combination of physical CPUs and virtual machines. The InvisaPC solution provides the ability for a smooth migration from physical desktops to remote desktops on virtual machines while supporting high-performance applications.
