MPM Capital Signs Lease Agreement with BioMed Realty Trust

MPM Capital has signed a lease for about 14,500 square feet in a new office building at 450 Kendall St. That's about a quarter of the space in the building, which is touted by owner BioMed Realty Trust as the first speculative office building constructed in Cambridge since the dot-com bubble burst in 2001. It's also about 25% bigger than MPM's current location in the John Hancock Tower, and includes space on the fourth and fifth floors with outdoor terraces overlooking Broad Canal. The firm plans to move in April.

For the quarter, the company’s total revenues were $168,916,000 compared to $159,232,000 a year ago. Income from operations was $36,310,000 compared to $32,805,000 a year ago. Net income was $16,976,000 compared to $4,136,000 a year ago. Net income attributable to the company was $15,960,000 compared to $4,247,000 a year ago. Net income available to common stockholders was $15,960,000 compared to $4,247,000 a year ago. Income from continuing operations per share available to common stockholders basic and diluted earnings per share was $0.08 compared to $0.02 a year ago.
