BNP Paribas SA provides banking and financial services worldwide. Its retail banking business offers current accounts and other solutions in the areas of corporate financing and asset management; financial investment advice and brokerage services; personal, consumer credit, and mortgage financing; cash management; and equipment finance. The company’s corporate and investment banking business provides financing, advisory, and capital markets services to corporations, financial institutions, and investment funds. It offers structured finance; factoring; specialized financing products; transaction banking products, such as cash management, international trade finance, and liquidity management products; services for mergers and acquisitions, primary equity capital market transactions, financial engineering and balance sheet restructuring, and listed transactions; equity and commodity derivative products, indices and funds, and financing solutions; and fixed income products in interest rates and inflation, foreign exchange, and credit markets. The company’s investment solutions business provides asset management services; wealth engineering, financial, and advisory services to private banking customers; independent financial advice and investment services to individual clients; securities services to financial institutions and issuers, and buy-side and sell-side players; real estate services to corporates, investors, local authorities, property developers, and individual customers; and personal and property insurance products. In addition, it manages the portfolio of listed and unlisted investments, and emerging market sovereign debt; operates as a tracking and analysis centre for disruptive innovations; and owns and manages shopping centers in Europe. The company was formerly known as Banque Nationale de Paris and changed its name to BNP Paribas SA in May 2000. The company was founded in 1848 and is based in Paris, France.

BNP Paribas Expands International Payment System Platform

BNP Paribas expanded its international payment system platform to provide foreign currency cash management solutions to its corporate clients. International payments can now be made safely and accurately in more than 30 funding currencies and over 130 currencies worldwide. In addition, BNP Paribas has extended its same day/next day foreign currency offering and has developed innovative solutions to help corporate treasurers integrate their fixed income and transaction banking business, in order to more efficiently manage their foreign currency deals. More advanced international payment options are now available through all conventional BNP Paribas e-banking channels, integrating foreign currency deals into international payment instructions. These new solutions, which bring together BNP Paribas' Fixed Income and Cash Management expertise, are available for corporate treasurers who hold an account in the majority of European countries where BNP Paribas is present via its 'One Bank for Corporates' network.

BNP Paribas Announces Executive Changes

BNP Paribas appointed Sandrine Ferdane to be country manager for Brazil and CEO of its local business in the country. Ferdane, who has been with BNP since 1992, succeeds Louis Bazire, who was appointed vice chairman of the board for the Brazilian business.

BNP Paribas SA Announces Management Appointments

BNP Paribas SA named Giulio Baratta as head of corporate debt capital markets for Europe, the Middle East and Africa and Mark Lynagh head of European corporate debt capital markets. Baratta will take on the new role in addition to his current responsibilities as head of the company's debt capital markets in central and eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Lynagh will continue to cover northern European corporate clients, with a focus on the U.K. Lynagh will report to Baratta, who will report to Tim Drayson, who runs the European corporate group.
