Sprint Nextel Corp. and Digital Caddies, Inc. announced a venture where Sprint will provide wireless coverage and Android tablet hardware for the new Digital Caddies "Players Network" tablet-based technology platform. Digital Caddies Players Network is a caddie, a concierge and a course marshal all in one. Players Network tablets easily install on golf carts and wirelessly connect to the Web through Sprint's nationwide high-speed network. This new technology is a powerful tool for golf course operators as it improves their guests' experiences, builds guest loyalty, increases course revenue, and lowers operating costs. Digital Caddies is able to offer its new Players Network technology platform at no cost to qualifying golf course operators.
Digital Caddies, Inc. announced that on-course testing of their proprietary, wireless, tablet-based system for golf has begun with various test sites throughout Phoenix, Arizona. Shortly after the successful completion of the testing, the company will begin installing complete systems at customer facilities nationwide. As previously reported, with approximately 20,000 golf courses in North America and over 30,000 worldwide, Digital Caddies has positioned itself to be first to market with its new tablet-based service for golf courses. The new technology will provide rich streaming content and real time distance information to the golfer while also providing valuable information and services to the golf course and with the system being free for qualifying courses, adoption is expected to be rapid.
Mike Loustalot has been named President and Director of Digital Caddies, Inc. Prior to joining Digital Caddies, Loustalot was Vice President of Sales & Strategic Partnerships for GolfNow. to GolfNow, Loustalot was Executive Vice President of Sales for Cypress Golf Solutions (the founding company to GolfNow). Previously, Loustalot was founder and president of Spectrum Golf.
