CAE Inc. provides simulation and modeling technologies, and integrated training services primarily to the civil aviation industry and defense forces worldwide. The company’s Simulation Products/Civil segment designs, manufactures, and supplies civil flight simulation equipment, integrated training procedures trainers, flight training devices, and Web-based e-learning tools for regional commercial airlines, third-party training centers, and original equipment manufacturers, as well as provides various support services comprising emergency support, simulator updates and upgrades, maintenance services, and simulator relocations. Its Training & Services/Civil segment provides business, commercial, and helicopter aviation training services for flight, cabin, maintenance and ground personnel, and ab initio and pilot training, and crew sourcing services to regional airlines, helicopter operators, and general and business aviation markets. The company’s Simulation Products/Military segment offers military training equipment and software tools for fast jets, helicopters, trainer aircraft, and maritime patrol and tanker/transport aircraft, as well as provides simulation-based solutions for land and naval forces. Its Training & Services/Military segment supplies turnkey training services, simulation-based integrated enterprise solutions, and maintenance and in-service support solutions. The company’s New Core Markets segment offers healthcare simulation solutions, including patient simulators, surgical and imaging simulators, ultrasound simulators and task trainers, learning applications/courseware, and centre management systems; and provides technology and services for managing exploration and geological data, mine strategy, optimization, design and scheduling for mining methods and commodities. The company was formerly known as CAE Industries Ltd. and changed its name to CAE Inc. in June 1993. CAE Inc. was founded in 1947 and is headquartered in Saint-Laurent, Canada.

CAE and Lufthansa Flight Training Join Forces and Launch New Training Joint Venture for Pilot and Cabin Crew Training for Bombardier's CSeries Aircraft

CAE and Lufthansa Flight Training announced at the Farnborough International Airshow that they have joined forces focused on providing pilot and cabin crew training for Bombardier's CSeries aircraft. The joint venture operating under the name of Flight Training Alliance combines the operational expertise, profound instructor and courseware development know-how, technology leadership and global reach of two partners. Flight Training Alliance was appointed by Bombardier as its exclusive Authorized Training Provider for CSeries aircraft worldwide. This joint venture will provide a training solution for the all-new CSeries aircraft, leveraging the strengths and core expertise of the two partners. Flight Training Alliance will deploy training programs in the LFT and CAE networks and will leverage the global networks, instructional delivery from both partners to support customer requirements. The first training program deployments will be ready for training prior to entry into service of the aircraft. Bombardier will work with the joint venture to ensure that training programs are aligned to CSeries aircraft operators' requirements and that they have access to training programs where and when they need them in the marketplace. Bombardier and the joint venture will use the same training program courseware and curriculum to ensure consistency in quality and delivery across the network. The joint venture will also work with Bombardier to ensure that training programs are aligned with the evolution of the aircraft over the life of the program.

CAE Signs $112 Million in Contracts for Flight Simulators, Training Devices

CAE signed contracts for civil aviation training solutions including seven full-flight simulator, a series of training devices, and simulator update services to customers in North America, Asia, the Middle East and Eurasia. The contracts have a total value of approximately CAD 120 million at list prices. The contracts include the sale of one Bombardier Challenger 350 FFS to Bombardier Aerospace, three B737-900ER and one ATR72-600 FFSs to Lion Air, one Airbus A320 FFS to Middle East Airlines, one Boeing 777 FFS to Turkish Airlines, and a major A320 simulator update services to Air France.

CAE Wins Civil Aviation Training Solutions Contracts Valued at Approximately CAD 120 Million Including Seven Full-Flight Simulators

CAE announced that it has signed contracts for civil aviation training solutions including seven full-flight simulators (FFSs), a series of training devices as well as simulator update services to customers in North America, Asia, the Middle East and Eurasia. The contracts include the sale of: one Bombardier Challenger 350 FFS to Bombardier Aerospace, three B737-900ER and one ATR72-600 FFSs to Lion Air, one Airbus A320 FFS to Middle East Airlines, one Boeing 777 FFS to Turkish Airlines, and major A320 simulator update services to Air France. The contracts are worth a total of approximately CAD 120 million at list prices. List prices include the value of OEM aircraft-specific data, parts and equipment (DP&E), normally procured by CAE in the manufacture of its simulators. In the case of these contracts, some customers are providing part of the OEM content. These sales bring to eleven the sales announced by CAE in its first quarter of fiscal year 2015, which started April 1, 2014.
