Cardinal Health, Inc., a healthcare services company, provides pharmaceutical and medical products and services in the United States and internationally. The company operates in two segments, Pharmaceutical and Medical. The Pharmaceutical segment distributes branded and generic pharmaceutical, over-the-counter healthcare, specialty pharmaceutical, and consumer products to retailers, including chain and independent drug stores and pharmacy departments of supermarkets and mass merchandisers; hospitals; and other healthcare providers. This segment offers distribution, inventory management, data reporting, new product launch support, and contract pricing and chargeback administration services to pharmaceutical manufacturers; operates nuclear pharmacies and cyclotron facilities that manufacture, prepare, and deliver radiopharmaceuticals for use in nuclear imaging and other procedures in hospitals and physician offices; franchises retail pharmacies under the Medicine Shoppe and Medicap brands; provides pharmacy services to hospitals and other healthcare facilities; and offers logistics, marketing, and other services. This segment also provides various consulting and other services to pharmaceutical manufacturers, third-party payors, and healthcare providers. The Medical segment distributes a range of medical, surgical, and laboratory products to hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, clinical laboratories, physician offices, and other healthcare providers; and offers supply chain services, including spend, distribution, and inventory management services to healthcare providers. This segment also develops, manufactures, and sources a line of private brand medical and surgical products comprising surgical drapes, gowns, and apparel; exam and surgical gloves; and fluid suction and collection systems, as well as sterile and non-sterile procedure kits directly or through third-party distributors. Cardinal Health, Inc. was founded in 1979 and is headquartered in Dublin, Ohio.

Cardinal Health Introduces New Tools to Manage Cardiovascular Health

Cardinal Health has introduced new tools for retail pharmacies to assist their patients manage their cardiovascular health and prevent heart disease. Retail pharmacies that utilize Cardinal Health's Specialized Care Center focused on Heart Health already have access to training, patient education, marketing tools, product and merchandising recommendations that help position them as a local destination for cardiovascular health needs. Now, as part of the company's continuing commitment to helping retail pharmacies offer patient care services and improve the quality of care their patients receive, pharmacies that utilize Cardinal Health's Heart Health Specialized Care Center now also have access to: My Digital Health Coach patient tracking and reporting tools; New resources to make it easier to screen patients for cardiovascular risks; New continuing education courses to enhance their knowledge about effective strategies for improving heart health. They also have access to: Discounts on non-prescription products (also known as 'front-end products') that patients with cardiovascular conditions need, like home diagnostics and pain relief products, vitamins and specialty supplements; New print and electronic marketing tools to educate local physicians and employers about how community pharmacists can help patients prevent heart disease and improve heart health; and New print and electronic promotional materials to market their heart health services to patients. Participating pharmacies will also now have the ability to offer their patients new resources to help improve their heart health, including: My Digital Health Coach, an online health coaching tool that creates personalised health and wellness plans based on each patient's unique goals and health conditions; A monthly e-newsletter that contains tips and advice to help patients better manage heart health; and A patient kit containing heart health product samples and educational materials.
