Cap Gemini S.A. announced two senior promotions. Pierre-Yves Cros, previously chief executive of Capgemini Consulting and member of the executive committee, has been appointed chief development officer. Xavier Hochet, currently chief executive of Capgemini Consulting in France, has been promoted to chief executive for global strategy and joins the group's executive committee.
Norway Post has selected Tata Consultancy Services Limited and Cap Gemini S.A. to modernise its technology infrastructure and reduce costs. The companies were contracted for $43 million each. The Nordic mail and logistics group delivers more than 36 million packages and 2.2 billion letters per year. The Tata group company will provide a range of application development and support services to Nordic Post under the six-year, multi-million contract. TCS has also been entrusted to coordinate and drive overall transition and transformation programme across multiple vendors. The services will be delivered through its travel, transportation and hospitality group. Cap Gemini will provide the services from delivery centres in Oslo in Norway, Helsingborg in Sweden and Mumbai in India. The contract includes outsourcing of central applications, such as enterprise resource planning and data warehousing. Cap Gemini has been working with Norway Post for more than a decade, will act as a strategic partner in its modernisation plans.
