CIMB Group Holdings Berhad, an investment holding company, provides various banking services. The company’s Consumer Banking segment offers lending, deposit, wealth management, remittance, and other products and services to individual and commercial customers in Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, and Cambodia; products and services for small and medium-scale enterprises, and mid-sized corporations; and credit cards, personal loans, and group insurance products. Its Wholesale Banking segment provides financial advisory services to corporations, including advising issuance of equity and equity-linked products, debt restructuring, initial public offerings, secondary offerings, and general corporate advisory services; and wholesale fund management and unit trust products; and client coverage services to corporate and institutional clients. This segment also offers equity services, such as acting as underwriter, global co-ordinator, book runner, or lead manager for equity and equity-linked transactions; originating, structuring, pricing, and executing equity and equity-linked issues; and executing program trades, block trades, and market making, as well as provides nominee and stock broking services to retail and corporate clients. In addition, this segment is involved in corporate lending and deposit taking, transaction banking, treasury, and markets activities. The company’s Investments segment provides funding operations that consist of group strategy, group insurance, private equity, and strategic investment, which focuses on defining and formulating strategies at the corporate and business unit levels, oversee the group's strategic, private equity fund management, and strategic investments. Its Support and Others segment is engaged in investment holding; and providing property management and other related services. It operates a network of 1,061 retail branches. CIMB Group Holdings Berhad was founded in 1924 and is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

RHB And Employees Provident Fund Engage Advisors For Merger

RHB Capital Berhad (KLSE:RHBCAP) and Employees Provident Fund of Malaysia have appointed advisors to advise on the merger on the proposed merger between RHB Capital, Malaysia Building Society Bhd (KLSE:MBSB) and CIMB Group Holdings Berhad (KLSE:CIMB). Employees Provident Fund has hired Deutsche Bank while RHB has hired Credit Suisse, according to sources. The sources declined to be identified as the information has not been yet made public.
