Corus Entertainment Inc., an integrated media and entertainment company, operates radio stations, and specialty, pay, and conventional television networks in Canada and internationally. It operates through two segments, Television and Radio. The Television segment operates specialty television networks, pay television services, and conventional television stations. Its content business is involved in the production and distribution of films and television programs; merchandise licensing; publishing; and animation software sale activities. This segment distributes and licenses proprietary films and television programs; sells licenses, customer support, training, and consulting related to the animation software business; and provides advertising services. It also develops, produces, and distributes children’s animated content from Nelvana Studio, as well as to broadcasters and home entertainment companies. In addition, this segment publishes children’s books, including a list of approximately 500 picture books, non-fiction, and fiction titles for toddlers to young adults. Its television assets include the kids services YTV, Treehouse, Nickelodeon (Canada), ABC Spark, TELETOON, and TELETOON Retro; the women’s services W Network, Cosmopolitan TV, OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network (Canada) and W Movies, CMT (Canada), Sundance Channel (Canada), and Telelatino; and Movie Central, a pay TV service, with nine multiplex channels, including HBO Canada and three local over-the-air television stations. The Radio segment operates 37 radio stations that offer rock, news-talk, hits, adult contemporary, and country under the 102.1 the Edge, Q107, 630 CHED, CKNW AM 980, 680 CJOB, and Country 105 brands connecting listeners and communities across the country, on-air, online, and on site. Corus Entertainment Inc. was founded in 1998 and is headquartered in Toronto, Canada.

Corus Entertainment Inc. announced consolidated unaudited earnings results for fourth quarter and full year ended August 31, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported revenues of CAD 201,557,000, income before income taxes of CAD 35,841,000, net income attributable to shareholders of CAD 23,727,000 or CAD 0.28 per diluted share, cash provided by operating activities of CAD 3,243,000, additions to property, plant and equipment of CAD 4,261,000 compared to revenues of CAD 181,897,000, income before income taxes of CAD 17,758,000, net income attributable to shareholders of CAD 11,879,000 or CAD 0.14 per diluted share, cash provided by operating activities of CAD 35,282,000, additions to property, plant and equipment of CAD 2,712,000 for the same quarter a year ago. Negative free cash flow was CAD 7,164,000 against positive free cash flow of CAD 33,627,000 a year ago. Adjusted net income attributable to shareholders was CAD 26,785,000 or CAD 0.31 per basic share against CAD 25,816,000 or CAD 0.31 per basic share against a year ago. The revised free cash flow guidance is based on achieving the company’s revised forecasted segment profit guidance of CAD 300.0 million to CAD 320.0 million, the company’s historical working capital run rates and a capital expenditures target of CAD 20.0 million to CAD 25.0 million.

Corus Entertainment Partners with Bento Box Entertainment

Corus Entertainment is partnering with Bento Box Entertainment, on a multi-year co-development and production deal to create a slate of original series for TELETOON's primetime programming block TELETOON at Night to debut in 2016. Bento Box, in partnership with Corus, will also bring this slate of series to the U.S. and the international marketplace for linear and digital distribution. With production for this slate to be based in Canada, Bento Box will work side by side with Corus and its animation studio Nelvana to develop and co-produce primetime animated original series for TELETOON at Night.
