The company’s property insurance products include property coverage, marine coverage, and boiler and machinery solutions; and casualty insurance products comprise workers’ compensation, general and product liability, commercial auto, and umbrella coverage solutions. It also provides surety and fidelity bonds; management and professional liability insurance, and risk management services to various professional firms, including architects, real estate agents, small and mid-sized accounting firms, law firms, and others; directors and officers, employment practices, and fiduciary and fidelity insurance coverage solutions to small and mid-size firms, public and privately held firms, and not-for-profit organizations; and professional and general liability and associated standard property and casualty coverage solutions for healthcare industry. In addition, the company underwrites various insurances against energy, cargo and specie, marine hull, and general aviation; construction insurance; and political violence, accident and health, and financial institutions, as well as offers catastrophe reinsurance. CNA Financial Corporation markets its products and services through independent agents, brokers, and managing general underwriters. The company was founded in 1853 and is based in Chicago, Illinois. CNA Financial Corporation is a subsidiary of Loews Corporation.

CNA Financial Corporation announced that on December 19, 2014, Robert A. Lindemann announced his retirement as President and Chief Operating Officer of the Commercial Lines of the company, effective December 31, 2014. On December 19, 2014, the company announced that effective January 1, 2015, pending the appointment of a successor to Mr. Lindemann, David Rutkowski, Senior Vice President, Commercial Underwriting, would assume certain of Mr. Lindemann's responsibilities, including day-to-day operational duties, reporting to Thomas Motamed, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Registrant.

CNA Appoints Bruce Dmytrow as Vice President of Aging Services, National Programs Underwriting

CNA announced the appointment of Bruce Dmytrow to vice president of Aging Services, National Programs Underwriting for the company's Healthcare segment, effective January 1, 2015. In this role, Bruce will be responsible for the strategic leadership of this high-performing area. Bruce brings more than 29 years of healthcare industry experience and 22 years of insurance experience to his new role. Most recently, Bruce led CNA Specialty Risk Control where he was responsible for the strategic leadership of the Risk Control organization for all of the Specialty customer segments in the United States, Canadian and European markets.

CNA Financial Corporation Announces Executives Appointments, Effective from November 17

CNA Financial Corporation announced the appointment of two new Actuarial senior vice presidents. Mark Kaufman has been appointed senior vice president of Actuarial Pricing for Specialty Insurance, effective November 17. In this critical leadership role, Mark will be responsible for the overall direction and general management of specialty pricing in accordance with the company's strategic plan and will report directly to Mark Herman, president and chief operating officer, CNA Specialty. Mark brings more than 20 years of actuarial experience to CNA, most recently serving as chief actuary of Global Professional lines for XL. In addition, Michael Shane has been appointed senior vice president of Reserving, also effective November 17. In this equally critical role, Michael will serve as the appointed actuary for the U.S. and Bermuda subsidiaries of the CNA insurance companies. Michael has proven senior leadership skills, serving as a chief actuary as well as having held key leadership positions in both finance and claim organizations. Most recently, Michael served as chief actuary for The RiverStone Group.
