It serves the ports of Vancouver, Prince Rupert (British Columbia), Montreal, Halifax, New Orleans, and Mobile (Alabama), as well as the metropolitan areas of Toronto, Buffalo, Chicago, Detroit, Duluth (Minnesota)/Superior (Wisconsin), Green Bay (Wisconsin), Minneapolis/St. Paul, Memphis and Jackson (Mississippi), with connections to all points in North America. The company was founded in 1922 and is headquartered in Montreal, Canada.

CN Reaches Tentative Labour Agreement with Teamsters Union Representing Locomotive Engineers and Conductors on Northern Quebec Internal Short Line

CN announced that it has negotiated a tentative labour agreement with the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference (TCRC) union that represents locomotive engineers and conductors working on the company's Northern Quebec Internal Short line. The four-year agreement would provide wage increases and benefit improvements to 93 employees. Details of the agreement are being withheld pending ratification by the affected TCRC members. The union is expected to announce the results of the ratification vote by the end of February 2015.

Canadian National Railway Company and United Steelworkers Union Reach Tentative Agreement to Renew Labor Contract

Canadian National Railway Company announced that it has reached a tentative agreement with the United Steelworkers (USW) union Local 2004 to renew the labor contract for approximately 3,000 CN maintenance-of-way employees represented by the USW in Canada. The current CN-USW labor agreement is scheduled to expire on December 31, 2014. The union is expected to announce ratification results before the end of January 2015.

Canadian National Railway Company Announces $600 Million Debt Offering

Canadian National Railway Company announced two-tranche debt offering of $600 million, comprised of $250 million Floating Rate Notes due 2017, and $350 million 2.95% Notes due 2024. The company expects to close the offering on November 14, 2014, subject to customary closing conditions. The company plans to use the net proceeds from the offering for general corporate purposes, including the redemption and refinancing of outstanding indebtedness, and share repurchases. The joint book-running managers of the debt offering are: Citigroup Global Markets Inc., RBC Capital Markets, LLC, and Wells Fargo Securities, LLC. The co-managers of the debt offering are HSBC, BMO Capital Markets, BNP PARIBAS, Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated, Mitsubishi UFJ Securities (USA) Inc., Scotiabank, TD Securities, and US Bancorp.
