Canadian Natural Resources Limited explores for, develops, produces, markets, and sells crude oil, natural gas liquids (NGLs), and natural gas in North America. It offers light and medium crude oil, primary heavy crude oil, Pelican Lake heavy crude oil, bitumen (thermal oil), and synthetic crude oil (SCO). The company has operations in Western Canada; the United Kingdom portion of the North Sea; and Côte d’Ivoire, Gabon, and South Africa in Offshore Africa. The company’s midstream assets include three crude oil pipeline systems; and a 50% working interest in an 84-megawatt cogeneration plant at Primrose. It has gross proved crude oil, SCO, bitumen, and NGLs reserves of 4.42 million barrels; gross proved natural gas reserves of 4.31 trillion cubic feet (Tcf); gross proved plus probable crude oil, SCO, bitumen, and NGLs reserves of 6.97 million barrels; and gross proved plus probable natural gas reserves of 6.11 Tcf. The company was formerly known as AEX Minerals Corporation and changed its name to Canadian Natural Resources Limited in December 1975. Canadian Natural Resources Limited was founded in 1973 and is headquartered in Calgary, Canada.

Canadian Natural Resources Limited announced unaudited consolidated earnings and production results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported product sales of CAD 5,370 million, net earnings of CAD 1,039 million or CAD 0.93 per diluted share and adjusted net earnings from operations of CAD 984 million or CAD 0.90 per diluted share compared to product sales of CAD 5,284 million, net earnings of CAD 1,168 million or CAD 1.07 per diluted share and adjusted net earnings from operations of CAD 1,009 million or CAD 0.93 per diluted share a year ago. Cash flow from operations was CAD 2,440 million or CAD 2.39 per diluted share against CAD 2,454 million or CAD 2.26 per diluted share a year ago period. Capital expenditures, net of dispositions were CAD 2,175 million against CAD 1,655 million a year ago period. Revenue was CAD 4,712 million against CAD 4,659 million a year ago. Earnings before taxes were CAD 1,336 million against CAD 1,538 million a year ago. For the nine months, the company reported product sales of CAD 16,451 million, net earnings of CAD 2,731 million or CAD 2.49 per diluted share and adjusted net earnings from operations of CAD 3,055 million or CAD 2.78 per diluted share compared to product sales of CAD 13,615 million, net earnings of CAD 1,857 million or CAD 1.70 per diluted share and adjusted net earnings from operations of CAD 1,872 million or CAD 1.72 per diluted share a year ago period. Earnings before taxes were CAD 3,685 million against CAD 2,517 million a year ago. For the quarter, total production before royalties was 796,931 BOE/d against 702,938 BOE/d a year ago. Natural gas production before royalties was 1,674 MMcf/d against 1,634 MMcf/d a year ago. Crude oil and NGLs production before royalties was 518,007 bbl/d against 545,169 bbl/d a year ago. Production increased largely as a result of the successful integration of light crude oil and NGLs production volumes acquired in 2014, as well as a successful drilling program. For the nine months ended September 30, 2014, total production before royalties was 766,871 BOE/d against 669,170 BOE/d a year ago. Natural gas production before royalties was 1,497 MMcf/d against 1,145 MMcf/d a year ago. Crude oil and NGLs production before royalties was 517,428 bbl/d against 478,308 bbl/d a year ago. For 2014, annual production guidance is targeted to average between 531,000 bbl/d and 557,000 bbl/d of crude oil and NGLs and between 1,550 MMcf/d and 1,570 MMcf/d of natural gas. The company provided capital spending guidance for the full year of 2015. In 2015, capital spending will be down CAD 190 million to CAD 480 million.
