Canadian Natural Resources Limited explores for, develops, produces, markets, and sells crude oil, natural gas liquids (NGLs), and natural gas in North America. It offers light and medium crude oil, primary heavy crude oil, Pelican Lake heavy crude oil, bitumen (thermal oil), and synthetic crude oil (SCO). The company has operations in Western Canada; the United Kingdom portion of the North Sea; and Côte d’Ivoire, Gabon, and South Africa in Offshore Africa. The company’s midstream assets include three crude oil pipeline systems; and a 50% working interest in an 84-megawatt cogeneration plant at Primrose. It has gross proved crude oil, SCO, bitumen, and NGLs reserves of 4.42 million barrels; gross proved natural gas reserves of 4.31 trillion cubic feet (Tcf); gross proved plus probable crude oil, SCO, bitumen, and NGLs reserves of 6.97 million barrels; and gross proved plus probable natural gas reserves of 6.11 Tcf. The company was formerly known as AEX Minerals Corporation and changed its name to Canadian Natural Resources Limited in December 1975. Canadian Natural Resources Limited was founded in 1973 and is headquartered in Calgary, Canada.

Canadian Natural Resources Limited Announces Discovered Presence of Light Oil/Hydrocarbons Offshore Cote d'Ivoire

Canadian Natural Resources Limited announced that the Saphir-1XB well has encountered an accumulation of light oil in the deepwater frontier exploration play in Block CI-514 offshore Cote d'Ivoire. The well was drilled by a semi-submersible rig in a water depth of 2,300 meters and reached a total depth of 4,655 meters. The well encountered a series of thick sands of approximately 350 meters, containing a hydrocarbon column of approximately 40 meters of light oil with 34 degree API gravity. The well was plugged and the data gathered will now be evaluated to determine the extent of the accumulation and the forward plan for appraisal. Block CI-514 is operated by Total Exploration and Production, with a 54% working interest, along with CNR International at 36% and PETROCI at 10%.

Canadian Natural Resources Limited announced that on March 26, 2014, it priced $500 million principal amount of floating rate unsecured notes due March 30, 2016, sold at par with a rate of three-month Libor plus 0.375%, and $500 million principal amount of 3.8% unsecured notes due April 15, 2024, sold at a price of 99.957% per note to yield 3.805% to maturity.
