In addition, it offers commercial banking products and services, including business current accounts, and deposit accounts and investments; lending and finance products; and cheque/cash processing, bankers automated clearing/clearing house automated payment system, merchant, payment collection, cheque payment, faster payment, treasury, and foreign banking services, as well as provides charge and ATM cards. Further the company offers insurance products consisting of car, young driver, breakdown cover, home, pet, business, van, and life and health insurance, as well as provides offshore, online, and mobile banking services. It operates under its own brand, as well as under the smile, Platform, and Britannia brands. As of December 31, 2013, the company operated through a network of 294 branches, 22 business banking centers, 3 primary call centers, and approximately 2,500 ATMs, as well as the Internet and digital channels. The company is based in Manchester, the United Kingdom. The Co-operative Bank plc is a subsidiary of The Co-operative Banking Group Limited.

Co-Operative Bank plc Announces Executive Changes

Co-operative Bank plc announced that Richard Pym would step down as Chairman by the end of 2014. The Bank confirm on July 14, 2014 that Richard will leave his post on October 1, 2014. As previously announced, Dennis Holt, the Bank's Senior Independent Director, will act as interim Chairman of the Co-operative Bank from October 1, 2014 and until such time as Richard's successor has been confirmed and is in place. Dennis's experience in banking and insurance spans 36 years as an executive and a further seven as a non-executive director and Chairman, involving a wide range of economic and competitive environments.

The Co-operative Bank Appoints Maureen Laurie as Chair of Remuneration Committee

The Co-operative Bank announced the appointment of a new Independent Non-Executive Director, Maureen Laurie, to chair the Board's Remuneration Committee.
