ConocoPhillips announced that The Energy Department granted preliminary authorization to Freeport LNG Expansion L.P. and FLNG Liquefaction LLC to export up to 1.4 billion cubic feet per day of liquefied natural gas from its facility in Quintana Island, Texas. Freeport is a joint venture between COP and other private investors.

ConocoPhillips announced a quarterly dividend of 66 cents per share, payable June 3, 2013, to stockholders of record at the close of business on May 24, 2013.

Members of Kazakhstan's parliament are trying to persuade the government to acquire stake in Kashagan oil field from ConocoPhillips (NYSE:COP). "I ask the government of Kazakhstan to take decisive measures to acquire the share of ConocoPhillips in the Kashagan project," MP Tursunbek Omurzakov said. "The national wealth of the country must belong to the people of Kazakhstan and not to foreign investors," he said. Lyazzat Kiinov, head of Kazmunaigas, said at the end of April 2013 that Kazakhstan does not intend to increase its share in Kashagan. Oil and Gas Minister Sauat Mynbayev had also warned Kazmunaigas earlier against buying ConocoPhillips's share in Kashagan.
