Companhia Paranaense de Energia - COPEL is engaged in the generation, transmission, distribution, and sale of electricity to industrial, residential, commercial, and rural customers primarily in the State of Paraná, Brazil. As of December 31, 2013, the company operated 19 hydroelectric plants, 1 wind plant, and 1 thermoelectric plant with a total installed capacity of 4,756.1 megawatts; and owned and operated 2,173.5 kilometers of transmission lines and 187,876.5 kilometers of distribution lines. It holds concessions to distribute electricity in 394 municipalities in the State of Paraná and in the municipality of Porto União in the State of Santa Catarina. The company also provides corporate telecommunication services and international long-distance services to 3,238 corporate clients, including supermarkets, universities, banks, Internet service providers, and television networks; 5,032 retail clients; and broadband Internet access to public elementary and middle schools. In addition, it supplies piped gas to 21,018 customers, including thermoelectric plants, cogeneration plants, gas stations, other businesses, and residences through a gas distribution network covering 646 kilometers in the State of Paraná. Companhia Paranaense de Energia – COPEL was founded in 1954 and is headquartered in Curitiba, Brazil.

Companhia Paranaense de Energia at its extraordinary board of director's meeting held on October 24, 2014, approved the prepayment of dividends and interest on equity, replacing dividends, for fiscal year 2014, totaling BRL 380,769,731.75, equivalent to 50% of adjusted net income for the first half of the year, with payment beginning on November 21, 2014, to shareholders of record on November 6, 2014. Dividends in the gross amount of BRL 350,769,731.75, to be distributed as BRL 1.22416 per common share; BRL 1.34678 per class A preferred share and BRL 1.34678 per class B preferred shares. The amounts distributed will be ratified by the Shareholders' Meeting that analyzes the Management Report, Balance Sheet and other Financial Statements referring to fiscal year 2014; and shares will be traded ex-dividends and ex-IOE as of November 7, 2014, inclusive.

For the quarter, on parent basis, profit before income tax and social contribution was BRL 196,692,000 compared to BRL 238,208,000 a year ago. Net income was BRL 212,488,000 compared to BRL 240,589,000 a year ago. Basic and diluted net earning per share attributed to parent company shareholders - in ordinary shares was BRL 0.74162 compared to BRL 0.83970 a year ago. For the six months, on parent basis, profit before income tax and social contribution was BRL 736,348,000 compared to BRL 637,579,000 a year ago. Net income was BRL 749,055,000 compared to BRL 632,461,000 a year ago.
