Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited, together with its subsidiaries, operates as an agro-industrial and integrated food company in Thailand and internationally. It operates through two segments, Livestock Business and Aquaculture Business. The company produces and sells animal feed in the forms of concentrate, powder, and pellets for swine, chicken, duck, shrimp, and fish under the CP, Hyprovite, Hi-Gro, Star Feed, Novo, Safe Feed, Erawan, Hogtonal, C.F., Anvipro, Marine, Hi-Grade, Turbo and Hilac, Blanca, Stargate, Safe Fo, and Safe Fish brands. It also provides animal breeds; live animals, including swine, chicken, and ducks; products from live animals, such as chicken eggs, duck eggs, live shrimp, and live fish; and basic processed meat. In addition, it produces cooked, semi-cooked, and ready-to-eat food products under the CP brand, as well as under private brands. Further, the company is involved in the import and distribution of animal feed raw material, feedstuff additives, animal vaccines, processed meat and ready meals, and seafood products; investment and international trading; and wholesale and retail of food products, as well as broiler chicken integration and aquaculture integration activities. Additionally, it is engaged in training center, information technology, and restaurant businesses. Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited was founded in 1978 and is headquartered in Bangkok, Thailand.

Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited Announces Audited Group and Standalone Earnings Results for the Year 2013

Charoen Pokphand Foods Public Company Limited announced audited group and standalone earnings results for the year 2013. For the year, the company’s group revenues from sales in 2013 were THB 389,251 million, increased by 9% from THB 357,175 million in 2012. The increase of sales was from operational sales growth in Thailand of 3%, primarily due to the increase in the sales from livestock business, as well as international sales growth of 14%. The company's net profit in 2013 of THB 7,065 million, or equivalent to THB 0.96 per share, decreased by 62% from THB 18,790 million, or equivalent to THB 2.59 per share. This decrease was attributable to the reasons: In January 2012, there was the recognition of a ‘gain on changes in fair value of investments in associate’ from the purchase of the investment in C.P. Pokpand Company Limited amounting to THB 8,673 million. The recognition of such gain in the first quarter of 2012 was in accordance with Thai Financial Reporting Standards and was a non-recurring transaction, and The decrease of 2013 operating profit of aquaculture business in Thailand which was mainly due to the outbreak of the Early Mortality Syndrome (EMS) since late 2012 affecting the shrimp farming industry in Thailand and resulting in the significant decline in sales of the company's aquaculture business in Thailand. For the year, the company reported standalone net profit of THB 6,873,798,000 or THB 0.89 per share, compared to THB 8,051,352,000 or THB 1.06 per share, a year ago.
