Capstone Turbine Corporation develops, manufactures, markets, and services microturbine technology solutions for use in stationary distributed power generation applications worldwide. The company offers microturbine units, subassemblies, components, and various accessories for applications, including cogeneration comprising combined heat and power (CHP) and integrated CHP, as well as combined cooling, heat, and power; and renewable energy, natural resources, and critical power supply. Its microturbines are also used as battery charging generators for hybrid electric vehicle applications. The company also provides various accessories, including rotary gas compressors with digital controls; heat recovery modules for CHP applications; dual mode controllers that allow automatic transition between grid connect and stand-alone modes; batteries with digital controls for stand-alone/dual-mode operations; power servers for multipacked installations; protocol converters for Internet access; and miscellaneous parts, such as frames, exhaust ducting, and installation hardware. In addition, it remanufactures microturbine engines; and provides after-market parts and services, as well as repair and maintenance services. The company sells its products primarily through distributors and original equipment manufacturers. Capstone Turbine Corporation was founded in 1988 and is headquartered in Chatsworth, California.

Capstone Turbine Enters into Letter Agreement with Wells Fargo Bank

On September 16, 2014, Capstone Turbine Corp. entered into a letter agreement with Wells Fargo Bank, National Association. The Letter Agreement extends the maturity date under the Company's Credit and Security Agreement (Ex-Im Subfacility) with Wells Fargo, dated February 9, 2009 (as amended, the Ex-Im Credit Agreement), from September 30, 2014 to September 1, 2017. The Letter Agreement also, among other things, changes the annual facility fee due to Wells Fargo under the Ex-Im Credit Agreement and revises the calculation of the Company's borrowing base under the Ex-Im Credit Agreement to increase the borrowing limit related to inventory.

Capstone Turbine Corporation announced that it received an order for two C1000 microturbines to upgrade a technology innovation firm in Southern California. Capstone's distributor in California, Regatta Solutions, secured the two-megawatt order. The technology innovation firm conducted an analysis of their energy usage and decided it was time to upgrade to a more efficient and reliable power generation solution. After comparing various technologies, the firm chose Capstone's clean-and-green microturbines. Additionally, the C1000's will be operating in a combined heat and power (CHP) application. The clean exhaust from the microturbines will be captured via heat exchangers and will provide hot air and hot water to the facility. This boosts the overall efficiency of the firm's energy usage to greater than 80%.
