Cree Seeks Acquisitions

Cree, Inc. (NasdaqGS:CREE) is looking for acquisition opportunities. Chuck Swoboda, Chief Executive Officer of Cree said in April 2014, although no deals were imminent, the company is looking at acquisitions.

Walgreens Co. Selects Energy-Efficient LED Lighting by Cree, Inc. for Goodyear, Ariz. Location

Walgreens Co. selected energy-efficient LED lighting by Cree, Inc. for its Goodyear, Ariz. location, delivering superior illumination while lowering the total cost of ownership compared to fluorescent lighting alternatives. The 14,820 square-foot store now features Cree(R) LED troffers, linear luminaires and downlights, saving the retailer thousands in annual energy and maintenance costs. Supporting Walgreens commitment to PURE (People Using Resources Efficiently), which focuses on environmental sustainability by managing energy consumption, the Cree LED lighting system allows Walgreens to reduce its energy usage and operating costs without compromising light quality. Cree CS18(TM) and CS14(TM) LED linear luminaires deliver strong vertical light levels throughout the sales floor, while Cree CR24(TM) troffers, designed to last 100,000 hours, help Walgreens reduce energy consumption and maintenance needs in the pharmacy. More importantly, the Cree luminaires are backed by company's 10-year limited warranty, providing investment protection.

Cree Reinvents the Three-Way LED Bulb

Cree, Inc. continues to relentlessly expand LED bulb portfolio with the 3-Way Cree(R) LED Bulb. Unlike compromised incandescent and prior LED alternatives with light levels that were only useful as two-way bulbs, the 3-Way Cree LED Bulb provides three light levels distinctly visible to the naked eye, delivering the perfect illumination for any application--from task lighting to ambient lighting. The 3-Way Cree LED Bulb emits warm, incandescent-like light while consuming up to 90% less energy. Available at The Home Depot(R) for $24.97, the 3-Way Cree LED Bulb is about half the cost of comparable LED bulbs. The new 3-Way Cree LED Bulb emits warm, incandescent-like light while consuming up to 90% less energy, at about half the cost of comparable LED bulbs. Giving consumers complete control over their lighting with a simple flip of a switch, the 3-Way Cree LED Bulb provides 320, 820 or 1,620 lumens (equivalent to 30-, 60- and 100-watt incandescents) in one bulb in a soft white (2700K) color temperature while consuming as few as three watts. The 3-Way Cree LED Bulb also lasts 25,000 hours, works in any orientation, and is backed by Cree's 10-year consumer warranty.
