Braven Selects CSR's Vibehub Technology for Portable Networked Audio System

BRAVEN has announced the introduction of a new portable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi distributed audio system based on the CSR's VibeHub networked audio solution that also utilizes CSR SyncLock IP. CSR's VibeHub platform enables synchronized audio streaming from a wide range of sources, allowing consumers using the BRAVEN Vibe System to place speakers throughout their homes and enjoy an unparalleled multi-room wireless audio experience controlled by their choice of mobile devices. The VibeHub platform is being used to build wireless speakers, intelligent audio adaptors, networked audio amplifiers and a wide range of other consumer audio products. These devices can simultaneously pull audio content from multiple sources including digital media servers and mobile devices, and distribute them around the home autonomously. The SyncLock technology inside VibeHub-enabled products allows for support of a wide array of connectivity options, including Bluetooth, Bluetooth Smart, Wi-Fi, Ethernet, SPDIF as well as analogue for integration with legacy devices in the home. BRAVEN integrated the Audivo Multiroom Audio Solution (AMAS), which is a turnkey solution based on VibeHub. It allows device manufacturers to quickly develop and easily integrate networked audio capabilities into their products. VibeHub's extensible networking capabilities enable interoperability with a wide range of today's popular wireless streaming protocols, so consumers are not limited to any specific ecosystem. VibeHub already supports multiple input formats including analogue, input from UPnP sources via Ethernet/WLAN, and Bluetooth with CSR aptX coding technologies for CD-like audio. The platform is revolutionizing the home audio networking market, and with SyncLock technology's interoperability, for the first time is allowing users to create fully flexible and personalized connected home audio experiences.

CSR plc Partners with Lenovo to Make its New S9 and S52 Smart TVs with Fully Featured Bluetooth Smart Remote Controls

CSR plc announced that it has partnered with Lenovo to make its new S9 and S52 Smart TVs with fully featured Bluetooth Smart remote controls. The remotes, which are currently available in China, are not only low power but also have increased responsiveness, and make controlling TV content a much more user-friendly experience. Advancing the forms of control in line with advances in television content, the remote, powered by the CSR1011, part of the CSR µEnergy range, and CSR8510 platforms, enables consumers to take advantage of voice control, as well as easily adding motion navigation and gesture recognition functionality. The end-to-end solution allows users to more easily navigate content, browse the web and play games on their Lenovo Smart TVs. The CSR Smart Remote platform enables the remote to ‘wake up’ and reconnect to the TV upon a key-press, an important function with increasingly stringent demands on standby current consumption. Battery life in smart remotes is compared using a standard set of usage scenarios, such as number of button presses and amount of time dedicated to both gesture and voice control. In all of these usage scenarios, the low current consumption afforded Bluetooth Smart means that battery life is multiple times longer than remote controls based on comparable technologies. In addition, the technology allows Air Mouse and Voice over Bluetooth Smart functionality to perform at very high levels of responsiveness. Features of the remote enabled by CSR’s Bluetooth Smart Remote solution include: Hardware Key Scanning - Low current (<30uA when connected)-Voice over Bluetooth Smart with hardware link controller for robust 16kHz audio - Gyroscope /Accelerometer support for motion or gesture based navigation-Low-power host-wakeup to aid Energy Star compliance (no infra-red transceiver required) - Auto-pairing (for production line use and for out-of-box experience).

Audivo Integrates CSR plc's VibeHub Networked Audio Platform to Significantly Ease Development of Whole Home Audio Solutions

Audivo has launched the system-on-module based on the VibeHub home networked audio solution from CSR plc. Audivo Multiroom Audio Solution (AMAS) is a turnkey solution that allows ODMs to quickly develop and easily integrate networked audio capabilities into their products. The VibeHub platform, which was launched earlier this year, can be used to build wireless speakers, intelligent audio adaptors, networked audio amplifiers and a wide range of other connected audio products. Using the VibeHub SyncLock technology, these devices can pull content from multiple sources including digital media servers and mobile devices, and simultaneously distribute the audio around the home in a tightly synchronized manner ensuring that there is no audible delay when walking between zones in the home.
