Cummins Inc. designs, manufactures, distributes, and services diesel and natural gas engines, and engine-related component products. It operates in four segments: Engine, Components, Power Generation, and Distribution. The Engine segment offers a range of diesel and natural gas powered engines under the Cummins and other customer brand names for the heavy-and medium-duty truck, bus, recreational vehicle, light-duty automotive, agricultural, construction, mining, marine, oil and gas, rail, and governmental equipment markets. This segment also provides new parts and service, as well as remanufactured parts and engines. The Components segment supplies after treatment systems, turbochargers, filtration products, and fuel systems for commercial diesel applications. It offers filtration systems for on-and off-highway heavy-duty and mid-range equipment, as well as supplies filtration products for industrial and passenger car applications. This segment serves engine and distribution segments, truck manufacturers, and other original equipment manufacturers. The Power Generation segment designs and manufactures components that make up power generation systems, including engines, controls, alternators, transfer switches, and switchgear, as well as power generation systems, components, and services. The Distribution segment provides maintenance contracts, engineering services, and integrated products. The company sells its products to original equipment manufacturers, distributors, and other customers worldwide. Cummins Inc. was founded in 1919 and is headquartered in Columbus, Indiana.

Cummins Inc. to Build Global Distribution Business Headquarters in Indianapolis

Cummins Inc. has announced plans to build its global distribution business headquarters in the Market East cultural district, Indianapolis. The building, which will include a distinctive 10-story office tower with retail on the first floor and a significant public greenspace will be built on four acres where Market Square Arena previously stood. The company expects to break ground on the building in early 2015 and open it in late 2016. The company's plans for the site also include a conference center and a parking garage. The project site is bordered by Market, Alabama, Washington and New Jersey streets.

Cummins Inc. Announces Management Changes, Effective January 1, 2015

Cummins Inc. named Tracy Embree as President of the Components Group, effective January 1. Embree will become a member of the Cummins Leadership Team, reporting to Chief Operating Officer, Rich Freeland. Embree is currently President -- Cummins Turbo Technologies (CTT). Tracy Embree is replacing Anant Talaulicar, who has been serving in a dual role -- President of the Components Group and leading the India Area Business Organization. Taulicar will continue be part of the Cummins Leadership Team helping to shape and guide future global decisions for the Company. Effective January 1, 2015, he will serve solely as Chairman & Managing Director of the India Area Business Organization, focusing on the strategy and execution needed to maximize Cummins' investments in India.
