Daktronics Inc. announced that they are producing and delivering full-color 20mm Vanguard® Dynamic Message Signs (DMS). Transportation agencies across the U.S. continue to search for methods to inform and clearly communicate the latest traveler information to motorists. Daktronics has responded to agencies' demands by expanding the broad range of DMS to now include high resolution full-color technology. Recent additions to section 2L.04.13 of the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) have helped guide agencies to achieve relaying information clearly and concisely to the public. It states, "Use of such technologies for new CMS is encouraged for greater legibility of their displays and enhanced recognition of the message as it pertains to regulatory, warning or guidance information." In response to these guidelines, Daktronics full-color DMS with 20mm pixel density can display graphic-aided text that mimics MUTCD symbols to help achieve brevity and lend clarity for motorists.
