As of August 14, 2014, the company operated a mainline fleet of approximately 700 aircraft. Delta Air Lines, Inc. was founded in 1924 and is headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia.

Delta Air Lines and Virgin Atlantic Airways Limited Introduces New Service from London to Philadelphia

Delta Air Lines, Inc. and Virgin Atlantic Airways Limited have announced that they will expand their partnership between the UK and the US in 2015 with the introduction of Delta's nonstop service from London to Philadelphia. Starting on April 8, 2015 the daily service will be Delta's eighth destination to the US from Heathrow. By next summer, the partnership will offer 39 daily flights to 16 destinations across North America from the UK. The service to Philadelphia, which is already among the partnership's top 15 onward destinations, is another step by Delta and Virgin Atlantic to strengthen their network between the UK and US. Passenger choice was enhanced last month when Delta took over the operation of one of Virgin Atlantic's two daily Heathrow-Los Angeles flights on the same day Virgin Atlantic started operating one of Delta's three flights between Heathrow and its hometown airport in Atlanta. The airlines also started nonstop service from Heathrow to Seattle in March this year. Delta's Philadelphia service will be operated from Heathrow Terminal 4 using a Boeing 757-200 aircraft with 164 seats. Passengers travelling in the BusinessElite cabin will enjoy fully flat-bed seats and a range of dining options. Additionally, throughout the aircraft, all passengers will have access to on-demand in-flight entertainment.

Delta Air Lines Adds New Service Between Philadelphia and London Heathrow

Delta Air Lines and Virgin Atlantic Airways will expand their partnership between the U.S. and U.K. next year with the introduction of Delta's daily nonstop service from Philadelphia to London. The service begins April 7, 2015 and will bring Delta's total number of daily flights between the U.S. and London Heathrow to 12. By next summer, the partnership will offer 39 daily flights between the U.S. and the U.K., including ten daily flights between New York and London. The service between London and Philadelphia is another step by Delta and Virgin Atlantic to strengthen their network between the U.S. and the U.K. Passenger choice was enhanced last month when Delta began operating one of Virgin Atlantic's two daily Los Angeles-London Heathrow flights on the same day Virgin Atlantic started serving one of Delta's three flights between Heathrow and its large hub in Atlanta. Delta also began nonstop service from Seattle to London Heathrow in March 2014.
