The company was formerly known as Harry Winston Diamond Corporation and changed its name to Dominion Diamond Corporation in March 2013. Dominion Diamond Corporation was founded in 1980 and is based in Toronto, Canada.

Dominion Diamond Corporation reported sales and production results for the third quarter and nine months ended October 31, 2014. For the quarter, the company reported total carats sold of $1,154 million. For the nine months, the company reported total carats sold of $3,505 million. For the quarter, the company reported total ore processed of 1,142,000 tones, carats of 975,000 and grade of 0.58 carats/tonne from the Ekati Diamond Mine and total ore processed of 207,000 tones, carats of 589,000 and grade of 2.82 carats/tonne from the Diavik Diamond Mine compared to total ore processed of 1,132,000 tones, carats of 609,000 and grade of 0.54 carats/tonne from the Ekati Diamond Mine and total ore processed of 211,000 tones, carats of 727,000 and grade of 3.29 carats/tonne from the Diavik Diamond Mine a year ago. For the nine months, the company reported total ore processed of 3,164,000 tones, carats of 2,337,000 and grade of 0.74 carats/tonne from the Ekati Diamond Mine and total ore processed of 691,000 tones, carats of 2,194,000 and grade of 3.11 carats/tonne from the Diavik Diamond Mine compared to total ore processed of 2,444,000 tones, carats of 1,173,000 and grade of 0.48 carats/tonne from the Ekati Diamond Mine and total ore processed of 628,000 tones, carats of 2,045,000 and grade of 3.10 carats/tonne from the Diavik Diamond Mine a year ago. For the fiscal year 2015, the company’s full year mine plan for the Fox pipe envisaged the processing of 1.7 million tonnes of mineral reserve producing 0.36 million carats at an average grade of 0.21 carats per tonne for fiscal 2015. At the beginning of fiscal 2015, the full year mine plan for the Koala pipe envisaged the processing of 0.87 million tonnes of mineral reserve producing 0.51 million carats at an average grade of 0.59 carats per tonne for fiscal 2015.

Dominion Diamond Corporation Announces Management Changes

Dominion Diamond Corporation announced that the board of directors has granted Robert Gannicott, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, medical leave of absence to undergo important treatment which is expected to continue until mid- February 2015. While Mr. Gannicott is undergoing treatment, current lead director and long standing board member Dan Jarvis will assume the role of Acting Chairman and will be supported in this role by Audit Committee Chairman Ollie Oliveira who has extensive experience in the diamond mining industry. During this period, Brendan Bell, currently Executive Vice President, will assume the role of Acting Chief Executive. Brendan will be supported in this role by the appointment of Elliot Holland as Vice President responsible for the Jay Project and Business Development. Prior to joining Dominion, Elliot Holland was a partner at McKinsey & Company.
