DEI Holdings, Inc. has formed Sound United, a new division that will oversee its Polk Audio(R), Definitive Technology(R), and BOOM(TM) Movement audio brands. The three brands will remain separate and distinct from one another to fill their unique roles in the market. Directed, DEI's business specializing in vehicle security and remote start systems, will remain a stand-alone division and will not be affected. The new Sound United business unit will be led by Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jim Minarik and President Kevin Duffy, both of whom will also retain their current roles at DEI Holdings. Polk Audio's Senior Vice President Sales, Ben Newhall, has been promoted to Chief Sales Officer for Sound United. In addition, Polk Audio's Senior Vice President, Joe Tristani, has been named Chief Operating Officer of Sound United. Michael DiTullo and Blair Tripodi currently serve as Sound United's Chief Design Officer and Chief Marketing Officer, respectively. At Polk, Dan Wakefield has been promoted to Vice President of Sales directly reporting to Mr. Newhall. He will be replaced by Bill Kinsella as Polk Audio's National Sales Director. Mike Simmons continues in his role as President of Directed.

Blair Tripodi, former managing director of Under Armour Europe, has joined DEI Holdings, Inc. as chief marketing officer at its Polk, Definitive Technology and Boom Movement business units.

DEI Holdings, Inc. announced the creation of a new Global Design Center that will support the respective brands' development of new products that answer the needs of today's consumers. Dubbed the DEI Global Design Center, the new endeavor is headed by Michael DiTullo, who assumed the newly created role of Chief Design Officer (CDO) for DEI on April 30, 2012. Mr. DiTullo most recently served as Creative Director of frog design, Inc., where he led projects for clients such as Google, Proctor & Gamble, and Motorola. Mr. DiTullo and the Design Center will work closely with the respective engineering and marketing teams for each DEI brand to develop inspired products that meld differentiated design with the company's 30-plus years of highly-refined acoustic and technical capabilities. Audio engineering, software development, and other critical technical elements will continue to reside within the respective brand organizations.
