Dell Inc. announced its enhanced social media training for Dell's certified PartnerDirect partners as part of a continued effort to invest in programs that will enable partner growth and profitability. The PartnerDirect social media training program, which began in May 2012, has introduced many Dell partners to fundamental social media principles and opened them to the possibility of leveraging social media to advance their business. Due to partner interest in the area of social media, Dell has now refreshed and elevated the training. The company is also preparing to launch new brand training for partners this summer. This will provide them with branding principles while helping them understand the PartnerDirect brand. The training will cover key branding elements such as logos and imagery, so they can represent Dell products and solutions effectively with customers.

The combination of simplicity, flexibility, and power in Dell's technology creates an unmatched end-to-end virtual computing experience and alleviates customer pain points from the data center to the endpoint devices, including: the Dell DVS Enterprise - Active System 800 for Citrix XenDesktop, Dell DVS Enterprise for Citrix XenDesktop, Dell Wyse Xenith Pro 2 zero client and the Dell Wyse D90Q7 and Z90Q7 thin clients. Dell introduced enhanced DVS Enterprise end-to-end solutions that will support Citrix XenDesktop 7 and its unified communications functionality. Dell offers three different deployment offerings based on customer needs: a pre-integrated system based on Dell's Active System 800 solution, DVS Enterprise supporting NVIDIA's GRID for virtualized graphics and a cost effective DVS Enterprise Integrated Storage solution. These three end-to-end deployment options make it easier and less expensive to roll out virtual desktops with Citrix.

Dell Inc. announced that it will enable Microsoft Windows Server Hyper-V as a viable hypervisor choice for the OpenStack cloud platform. This development, which is the first instance of a leading technology vendor enabling Windows Server Hyper-V hypervisor on OpenStack for private clouds, will give customers additional flexibility and choice to run OpenStack workloads within their existing Windows Server environments. Dell will enable key features of the Windows Server 2012 virtualization platform for OpenStack, including network virtualization, policy-based isolation, Quality of Service (QoS) and multi-tenancy. Additionally, Dell is working with other OpenStack members for the optimization of OpenStack components including OpenStack Compute for Hyper-V, OpenStack Block Storage for Windows, and Dell Crowbar provisioning. Dell is targeting availability of initial functionality in an upcoming release of the OpenStack project.
