Denizbank Anonim Sirketi provides banking, treasury, and investment banking products and services. It operates in three segments: Wholesale Banking, Retail Banking, and Treasury & Investment Banking. The Wholesale Banking segment offers short and long-term working capital loans, investment loans, non-cash loans, foreign exchange transactions, export finance, project finance, structured finance, corporate finance, deposit products, and cash management services. The Retail Banking segment provides loan products, including consumer, mortgage, and vehicle loans; credit cards; investment products, such as mutual funds, shares, government bonds/treasury bills, and repos; time, demand, and protected deposit products; and SME and agricultural loans, as well as overdraft loans, automated bill payment, checkbooks, and rental safes services. The Treasury & Investment Banking segment offers spot and forward foreign exchange transactions; and trading of treasury bills, bonds, and other local and international securities and derivative products. The company’s deposit products comprise demand, term, deposit on the Web, capital protected, gold, time, and accumulating deposit accounts. In addition, it provides insurance products, including personal accident, critical illness, long term life, unemployment, car, earthquake, traffic, wallet, health, property, liability, work place, hotel and holiday village package, pharmacy package, gas station package, POS device, greenhouse, animal life, fire package, transportation, theft, and engineering insurance products. It primarily serves retail customers; small and medium-size enterprises; exporters; and public and project finance, and commercial and corporate clients. As of December 31, 2013, Denizbank Anonim Sirketi operated approximately 688 branches in Turkey and 1 branch internationally. The company was founded in 1938 and is based in Istanbul, Turkey. Denizbank Anonim Sirketi operates as a subsidiary of Sberbank of Russia.

Denizbank reported consolidated earnings results for the first half ended June 30, 2014. For the period, the company reported net profit of TRY 506 million against TRY 635 million a year ago. ROE was 15.8% against 22.2% a year ago. Net interest income rose 28% to TRY 1.27 billion.

DFS Funding Corp. Issues EUR 264 Million Through 5 Series Notes for Denizbank A.S

DFS Funding Corp. issued EUR 264 million through 5 series notes for the Denizbank A.S. Sberbank CIB, HSBC Bank plc and Standard Chartered Bank organized the transaction. The notes were privately placed. The European Investment Bank (EIB), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), HSBC Bank plc (HSBC), Standard Chartered Bank (Standard Chartered) and Sberbank Europe AG were the investors. The final maturity of the notes spans from 5 years to 8 years. The notes have a 2 years interest only period, followed by straight line amortization. This deal enables DenizBank to substantially extend the maturity profile of its liabilities through a simple and predictable mechanism for managing debt amortization. DFS Funding Corp. acted as issuer and provided foreign currency funding to DenizBank against the receivables (diversified payment rights or DPR) generated under the banks internal payment processing business. These receivables have been sold to the DFS Funding program and serve to pay interest and principal due on notes issued by DFS Funding Corp.
