It offers satellite imagery contents, and elevation series of digital surface and terrain models, as well as analysis products and services to provide context and insight to imagery; Global Basemap, which allows customers to access imagery at various processing levels over its hosted network; and precision aerial imagery products consisting of digital aerial orthomosaic imagery. The company allows its customers in Direct Access Program, to directly task and receive imagery from its satellites. It also provides a range of on-and off-line distribution options, which enable its customers to access and integrate imagery into their business operations and applications. The company’s products and services are used in defense, intelligence, and homeland security applications, as well as mapping and analysis, environmental monitoring, oil and gas exploration, and infrastructure management uses. Its principal customers include governments, civil agencies, and providers of location-based services, as well as various companies in other industry verticals, such as the financial services, energy, telecommunications, utility, forestry, mining, environmental, and agricultural industries. The company sells its products and services through a combination of direct and indirect channels consisting of a network of resellers, strategic partners, direct enterprise sales, and Web services. The company was formerly known as EarthWatch, Incorporated and changed its name to DigitalGlobe, Inc. in August 2002. DigitalGlobe, Inc. was incorporated in 1993 and is headquartered in Longmont, Colorado.

MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. Signs Contract with DigitalGlobe, Inc

MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. ('MDA') announced that it has signed a contract with DigitalGlobe, Inc., to expand its existing direct access ground systems to include the ability to task, downlink, and process imagery from the WorldView-3 and GeoEye-1 satellites. MDA has also signed an agreement to become DigitalGlobe's preferred supplier of ground station solutions offered to international customers. This is an update to an agreement announced in December 2006. MDA's solution enables customers to directly access the optical imaging capabilities of the supported satellites to obtain timely and accurate geospatial data that is critical for decision-making.

DigitalGlobe, Inc. and MDA to Offer Combined Optical and Radar Satellite Solutions to Select Defense & Intelligence Customers

DigitalGlobe, Inc. announced that DigitalGlobe and MDA will cooperate to offer combined optical and synthetic aperture radar satellite data solutions to their respective defense and intelligence customers around the world. This solution will provide customers the ability to task and collect with DigitalGlobe's constellation of high-resolution earth imaging satellites, along with ability to receive and process near real-time data from the RADARSAT-2 synthetic aperture radar satellite within a common architecture. By combining access to RADARSAT-2 and the DigitalGlobe constellation, customers will see enhancements from high-resolution optical data applied to land and maritime applications, including change detection across national territories, wide area ship and oil detection, target detection and classification, forestry management, and disaster recovery.
