Dampskibsselskabet NORDEN A/S, an independent shipping company, owns and operates dry cargo and tanker vessels worldwide. It operates in two segments, Dry Cargo and Tankers. The company’s dry cargo vessels comprise Capesize, Post-Panamax, Panamax, Supramax, and Handysize vessel types that transport ore, coal, grain, steel, cement, sugar, and fertilizers, as well as various other types of dry cargo. Its Tanker segment operates Medium Range and Handysize product tankers, which carry refined oil products, such as gasoline, jet fuel, and gas oil, as well as various chemicals and vegetable oil. The company’s fleet consisted of 285 owned and chartered vessels. It also operates 58 vessels from third parties in pools. Dampskibsselskabet NORDEN A/S was founded in 1871 and is headquartered in Hellerup, Denmark.

Loss from operations (LBIT) was USD 27,171,000 compared to USD 15,717,000 a year ago. Loss before tax was USD 40,087,000 compared to USD 21,098,000 a year ago. Dampskibsselskabet Norden A/S Appoints Klaus Nyborg as Interim CEO

The Board of Directors has decided to appoint Vice Chairman Klaus Nyborg as interim CEO of Dampskibsselskabet Norden A/S with immediate effect. The Executive Management additionally consists of CFO Michael Tønnes Jørgensen, Executive Vice President and head of the Dry Cargo Department Ejner Kiel Bonderup, Executive Vice President and head of the Tanker Department Lars Bagge Christensen and Executive Vice President and head of the Corporate Secretariat Martin Badsted. Former President & CEO, Carsten Mortensen will still be available to the company for a period of time. Until the beginning of March 2012, Klaus Nyborg was CEO of Pacific Basin, Hong Kong.
