DRS Data & Research Services plc reported interim management statement for the first four months of 2013. For the period, the company reported revenue is 1.1% up on the same period last year. At the same time a change in the sales mix between e-Marker®, scanner sales and print has caused a small decline in margin. These factors have resulted in operating profit being at a similar level to the same period in 2012. With regard to scanner sales, in December 2012 the company reported that the Group had won an order for PhotoScribe® scanners from the National Examinations Council (NECO) in Nigeria, half of which were delivered and paid for in 2012. The outlook for the full year 2013 remains consistent with the position previously stated in the annual report.
DRS Data & Research Services plc announced consolidated earnings results for the year ended December 31, 2012. For the period, revenue was GBP 20,071,000 against GBP 15,980,000 in the same period a year ago. Profit before income tax was GBP 1,302,000 against GBP 1,090,000 in the same period a year ago. Profit for the period attributable to owners of the parent was GBP 1,111,000 or 3.49 pence per diluted share against GBP 843,000 or 2.65 pence per diluted share in the same period a year ago. Cash generated from operations was GBP 849,000 against GBP 1,061,000 in the same period a year ago. Net cash used in operating activities was GBP 358,000 against GBP 753,000 in the same period a year ago. Purchase of property, plant and equipment was GBP 250,000 against GBP 338,000 in the same period a year ago. Purchase of intangible assets was GBP 805,000 against GBP 10,000 in the same period a year ago. The proposed final dividend of 0.4 pence per share was approved by the Board on 27 March, 2013. The dividend is subject to approval by the shareholders at the 2013 Annual General Meeting and the expected cost of GBP 127,000 has not been included in the liability as at 31 December, 2012. If approved, it will be paid on 24 May, 2013 to shareholders on the register at close of business on 26 April, 2013. The company's expectation for revenue for 2013 is for a small decline on the 2012 position due to the lack of a large project similar to the GLA Election contract completed in 2012.
